EMAW!!!!!!

I love this song, when I was a kid a coach got kicked out of the game, I think it was KU against Duke, everyone in the hotel was standing out singing this song. Seems fitting to play it for the Squawks tonight.

Well, I am not completely out of it yet. There are four people who can still get points in this bracket.
Ant Dot, currently #1, picked WVU to go to the finals but then had Pitt winning it all.
Me, currently tied at 6 with Semi-Pro Story had WVU going on to win it all.
Semi-Pro Story has Duke advancing to the finals, but KU winning
Glordfindel, #10 also has Duke advancing but KU winning.

So, conceivably I could rise a few places before this thing ends.

I've got 65 points in the bracket, with the possibility of getting zero more.

If Duke beats WVA, the results will be: Semi-Pro Story, Glordfindel, Shark on Land
If WVA beats Duke and loses in the championship, the results are: Ant Dot2, green1, me
If WVA beats Duke and wins in the championship, the results are: green1, Ant Dot2, me
The rest of the games, MSU/Butler and possible Duke vs MSU/Butler, do not change the outcome.

So, go WVA, beat Duke (and then do whatever you want in the final). 8)

Congrats to semi-pro.

That was probably one of the stranger tournaments I've played in. I don't think I've picked so poorly ever. There were some crazy upsets. Why the NCAA thinks they should expand the tourney is beyond me.

Oh so many things I can’t remember
And way too many things I can’t forget
What time does church begin? Tell the priest I’m checking in
I want to cleanse my soul so I can do it again and again and again and again

I like the current format of 64 teams, but they should just expand the "at large" bids to 8 and play a mini tournament to determine which 4 teams get the bid... (Makes more sense anyway, for the most part it's only about 4 teams on the bubble that are worth considering)

Wouldn't that just shift the "bubble" teams to another 4? The problem is that in any sort of tournament that you have people picking who gets to go, there will always be controversy and at least one team that felt they should have gone instead of someone else.

I'm picking Duke as National Champion.........

I find announcing my winner after the Final has dramatically improved my odds over the years...... :o

Seriously, congrats to both Duke and Butler. The teams played a great tournament and provided a fantastic final game!
On most days I say: "Wrinkles only go where the smiles have been...."
Sometimes I can only say: "There is no dumbass vaccine......"

If something or someone gets you down, just remember: "In a hundred years it all won’t matter.........."

Butler's gonna be tough again next year, Hayward and Mack are sophomores and Howard is a junior. I don't see any of them leaving for the NBA this year.

Just finished watching some of the women's championship game. Now this will sound (to some) ridiculously sexist.

But damb .... women's college basketball is minor, minor (minor x 10) league stuff.

Stanford and Connecticut represent the two best teams in the nation? Jeez that was some baaaaad basketball.

From everything I've read (I did not watch the game), UConn played horrible in the first half. Their shooting percentage was miserable. Credit Stanford playing good D but UConn was really below par. They did picked it up in the second half.

I don't think that you should use that game as a benchmark of women's college basketball. Given UConn stats during their current 78-win streak, I'm going to say they have played in better games.
