Hate that he littered his cigarette. :(

Glad they didn't have FB back in my day as a kid...might have written the same thing.
Come on Dad, you know teens over exaggerate when they are upset.

Its a ploy to get a reality show.

plus the guy is a idiot. He's carrying a gun, and says "exploding hollow point bullets". HP's dont explode, no bullet explodes. If he thinks that and he's firing a gun at a object straight down, he should have been hit with a ricochet.

So you kid is misbehaving in YOUR mind on facebook.........so you make a ass of yourself in a video.....on facebook.

He should be ticketed for reckless firing of a weapon and for being a moron

Looks to me like he was firing at an angle, and the bullet was penetrating and then going into the ground beneath the device. No ricochets. So long as you are on your own land and not subject to laws/ordinances relating to discharge of a weapon within city limits or a certain proximity to a building or dwelling, you can pretty much shoot at whatever the heck you want to.

And while most people know that hollow-point bullets don't explode but expand radically upon impact/deceleration, he was (supposedly) talking to a 15-year-old girl. There was no need to be precise or otherwise obsess over semantics; just make it known that the bullets were (supposedly) doing significant damage. But because the laptop is so thin and has such little mass, unlike flesh, I doubt that the exit holes were much larger than the entry holes. If he'd really wanted to make a statement, a couple of rounds from a 12-gauge loaded with #2 shot would have done a far better job — and cheaper, too, than the buck-a-round .45 caliber ammo he claimed he was firing.

or a couple 6n1s (6 000 buckshot pellets and a deer slug).

It was a bit painful to listen to; and overwrought. But... if real and not the setup for "ANGRY DAD!!!" on A&E, I can understand the feeling

Awesome!
I can see this being a Web Redemption on Tosh.O.
I wouldn't be surprised if there's a shooting involving a 45 in one of their futures or at the very least some p!ssed in coffee

So the daughter went on a rant. Wonder who she got that from :-?

The acorn doesn't seem to have fallen far from the tree.

I'm pretty glad the fellow with the itchy finger on his gun doesn't live next door to me.

Hmmm.... mixed feelings here.....

I get why he's so angry. I really do. But... publicly humiliating the daughter seems to be more about "getting even" or "revenge" than truly trying to correct/educate.

As I'm a teacher (and also a parent), when a kid misbehaves, I want the bad behavior to stop and stay stopped. That's it. (If a teacher needs or wants the kid to suffer, he/she might need to re-think his/her occupation...)

I have my doubts this will be a long-term solution to stopping her bad behavior...

Okay..... after reading his response, this may end up being okay and kind of effective. Sounds like the Dad really does "know" his daughter, and that she has a head on her shoulders as well (along with a sense of humor.) Here's the part of his reply that's most relevant (at least to me...)

People were telling her she was going to commit suicide, commit a gun-related crime, become a drug addict, drop out of school, get pregnant on purpose, and become a stripper because she’s too emotionally damaged now to be a productive member of society. Apparently stripper was the job-choice of most of the commenters. Her response was “Dude… it’s only a computer. I mean, yeah I’m mad but pfft.” She actually asked me to post a comment on one of the threads (and I did) asking what other job fields the victims of laptop-homicide were eligible for because she wasn’t too keen on the stripping thing.

Here's hoping Dad and Daughter both grow old, happy and well adjusted.

I so disagree. Ever swung a sledgehammer and missed what you were aiming for and hit yourself? Besides, it's fun to shoot things.

On the Today show this morning Dr. Phil came out against this type of parenting.
So after much thought, I support this type of parenting. :D
