Re: 2013 Baseball Thread
Really Reds' fans? Acting all affronted that the Pirates celebrated the win?
THEY WON A PLAYOFF SERIES TO ADVANCE TO THE NEXT ROUND. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME IN OVER 2 DECADES. THEY CELEBRATED. DEAL WITH IT.
Classless whiners. You'd think LaRussa was their manager.

Baker's tenure with Reds comes to an end
CINCINNATI -- Dusty Baker is out as manager of the Reds after six seasons.
The change in the dugout comes after the Reds were defeated in the National League Wild Card Game by the Pirates on Tuesday. Baker had one year remaining on a two-year contract. There was no announcement regarding changes on the coaching staff.
"This was a very difficult decision to make," president of baseball operations and general manager Walt Jocketty said Friday in announcing that the Reds will have a new manager next season. "Dusty played an important role in the recent success of this organization, and we thank him for his contributions during his time here. We feel a change is necessary, however, if we are to continue to move the organization forward."

Please, Please Please. Take the Atlanta team out of playoffs. If I have to listen to that caterwauling for one more evening, I will go crazy.

I'm a Mets fan, the baseball season ended for me a couple of weeks after it started in April. Next season is already over, Matt Harvey is having Tommy John surgery and will probably miss the entire year. I don't care who wins.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

Re: 2013 Baseball Thread
i thought he should of had the surgery earlier , either way , he was going to miss 2014 , i didn't want to see him try and pitch next year , get hurt , then lose him for 2014 and 2015LIPH wrote:I'm a Mets fan, the baseball season ended for me a couple of weeks after it started in April.
