Going to Boston and Fenway. Travel help, please!

Post by krusin1 »

hey all,

We're taking my father to Fenway for his 70th birthday. :-)

Flying in to Logan airport and have a hotel fairly close to the airport.

So.......

How is the best way to get to Fenway? Rental car? Train? Taxi (45 min)? Other?
What to do in Boston near Fenway before the game?
Other stuff, thoughts, suggestions, warnings?

Any help would be SO greatly appreciated. We fly out 8/26. Thanks in advance!

Is Fenway a one day thing? How agile is dad? By train would require hopping the blue line and then switching to the green line plus a bit of walking at either end. Renting a car would be inexperienced driving to Fenway, finding parking, walking from there and then making your way back out. Just cab it, cab cost more than offsets all the above.
You only have two options - havin' fun or freakin' out...

Uber, we use it, my kids who live in the city use it cheaper than cabs and alot faster/ The duck tour isnt a bad take, get some history. the bleacher bar is a good stop, literally under the monster, you can see onto the field through the garage screen, enter from lansdowne st. Boston common and public gardens a nice walk

Take the T to Fenway. There is a Fenway stop on the Green Line that is only open for game-days. E-A-S-Y. Then you have the option to take the T after, or a cab, or Uber, or....

GO SOX!
