Ok. I had some conflicting information and have it straightened out now.
There was a “neighboring” empty lot that was used for tailgating but they are building a restaurant there now so it’s closed off.
There is no tailgating in the CP lots. They do t open until 2 hours before the concert.
The mall doesn’t have any tailgating.
There is a HPHC party at a bar that day.
Question still remains - where is everyone else going to tailgate if they aren’t going to the HPHC party??!!

I guess I gave Houston too much credit.
Or maybe I’m just spoiled by the 3 day tailgate party we used to have up here in Frisco.

I went to The Woodlands for Dave Matthews a few weeks ago, and yes, one of the small parking lots is under construction for (I believe) a West Alabama Icehouse or something like that.
The mall parking lot had signs up all over about "no parking for concerts" and was actually being patrolled really heavily to make sure you didn't park there. They did have one corner roped off where you could pay $25 to park.
The small lots were not being utilized by the pavilion for parking. Those are where we used to tailgate when Jimmy would come to town. I have no idea what my plans are now. Bringing two first-timers and was really hoping to show them a good time at the tailgate.
I showed up early for DMB expecting some tailgating and just ended up walking over to the hotel bar and having a drink with some friends.
I hate that we have a Saturday show and it'll be nothing like the past. I guess gone are the days like this (2010):
