Who's going to Indy 7/29/08??
My wife and I are planning to head into town for the Indy show. What is a close / good hotel to stay at?

Indy
A group of us go up every year for the concert. We actually stay at the Holiday Inn in Fishers, which is very close to the venue. They also have offered Jimmy Buffett packages. This includes drinks, food and transportation to the concert. Hopefully they will offer the package again. We are from out of state so it is very nice for us to have transportation to and from the concert. Hope this helps

I am local so I don't pay much attention to hotels in the area but there are a couple just beside the CIP, right off of I69. If you find the address for the CIP, you should be able to search for hotels close and come up with them. Feel free to post up any questions and I will help out however I can.
Oh yeah, and you can add me to the list of who's going. At least I hope so.

There are:
Staybridge Suites (this is next door to Cheesburger in Paradise)
9780 CROSSPOINT BLVD
INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46256
1-317-577-9500
INDIANAPOLIS-NORTHEAST (across the interstate from Cheeseburger)
9780 N. BY NE BLVD.
I-69 EXT.3 96TH STREET
FISHERS, IN 46037
1-317-578-9000
If these are too expensive or you want something different then let me know. There are other hotels close, I'm just not sure what they are off the top of my head.

The Comfort Inn on Prosperity...really close to Venue by going the back way which most of the staff knows. Been there for the last 3 years, and going back this year!sarabismom wrote:My wife and I are planning to head into town for the Indy show. What is a close / good hotel to stay at?

Stayed at a Staybridge last year in Ft. Wayne IN. All rooms have a kitchenette in them which includes a full size fridge. Nice to have the extra room to store your liquid refreshments and your leftovers from CIP And I am going, even if I don't get tix on Mon. Worked out OK last yearHoosier PH wrote:There are:

I'm just curious...I normally stay at Comfort Inn on Prosperity as I mentioned earlier. Is the traffic coming from Staybridge on the way to the venue pretty bad? I stay at Comfort Inn because I can avoid maybe 85% of the traffic from that spot. I'm curious because it would be great to stay next to CIP (who knows how long they'll be open), but I hate traffic!blank1127 wrote:Stayed at a Staybridge last year in Ft. Wayne IN. Traffic is going to be completely different this year. They changed the road that goes out there. 146th St goes all the way out there now so it should help. But since they have started opening the lot early, the traffic hasn't been too bad anyway.

I know where it is. I went there in 06 and they were charging 20$ per person plus 20$ per car. I think that is ridiculous so last year we went straight to the lot. I was curious if they had upped the price again.STL PARROTHEAD wrote:yes, we stayed there..... it was PACKED!!!!Hoosier PH wrote:Did you go there last year? Got my tickets
I hate ticketmaster "Security" typing. Half the time you can't read the letters. I had to try again twice, but I still got my tickets... Thank god, or I would have been very upset...

I've been to Indy twice and I don't remember seeing any bares at Sleepy Bear. A hot girl in a coconut shell bra did tell me she had to have her picture taken with me because I was wearing my FRUIT INSPECTOR SHOW ME YOUR COCONUTS t-shirt.STL PARROTHEAD wrote:Sleepy Bear, Sleepy Bear, Sleepy BARE!!!!!!!!!!!!
