I scrolled back and didn't see a thread. Is there anyone going to PHX??? Looking for the lay of the land, pre concert parties ect...

I'm thinking of going but I haven't gotten beyond the thinking stage. No hotel, no plane ticket, no concert ticket. But it's not like I haven't done that before.

We decided to go since we were already planning on being in Phoenix prior to the Vegas show. We probably wont do a full day of tailgating, just head over an hour or so before the show and walk around for a little bit.

We have decided to fly to PHX Wednesday night then drive to Vegas on Friday for the Saturday show.

We are doing Phoenix AND Vegas on the 26th. I haven't heard of any tailgating rules/locations for Phoenix. Any one have any word? Does the US Airways Arena allow for tailgating? What's the story?

dolphin cop- we are doing the same thing! flying into PHX wed night and driving to Vegas Friday. I know absolutely nothing about PHX.. we should start a tailgate of our own!!

I think there are several people flying in on Wednesday then hitting Vegas on Saturday. This is what US Airways Center has on their web page.

"Local Parrotheads won’t want to miss their chance to soak in the full Margaritaville experience.

“US Airways Center is extremely excited to welcome Jimmy Buffett for his first downtown Phoenix appearance. We welcome all Parrotheads as we turn downtown Phoenix into the biggest beach party of the year” said Ralph Marchetta, Senior Vice President and General Manager of US Airways Center."

I am familiar with Phoenix but I am not sure how they will do the tailgate. It is right downtown near the Chase Ball Field so maybe they will do like Pensacola and have limited tailgating in their parking lots. We plan to hang out at the pool until around 3 then head over to see what is going on.

Our flight gets in at 6:30 on Wednesday and I think we are heading straight from the airport to M'ville. My family is in Mesa so we are doing a sunrise hike at south mountain Thursday morning. Wanna meet Wednesday night?

2 weeks from today.. Anyone have any insight how the tailgating will work for this show? My first time to a show in Phoenix and I know US Airways is downtown and not sure how the tailgating will be.

I don't know of any tailgating, there's a few bars within walking distance. I'm driving up from Tucson Thursday and staying at the Hyatt a couple of blocks away.

Found the party!!! The Pre Concert Party is Free and Open to the Public.
Per US Airways Arena website: "Cityscape is closing Central Avenue and turning it into the Ultimate Margarita Beach Party starting at Noon and leading up to the 8pm Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band concert at US Airways Center."
