A short 7 hour drive up from here....Seems this one may need to be on the list as well....
Any help on the tailgating information would be great- otherwise we crash the gates as usual and fire up the jello shots in the street!

WOW! Just got off the phone with the Volvo Cars Stadium...
The City of Charleston does not allow tailgating. The venue is trying to find some "alternates"... She was very nice on the phone and helpful, but it seems their hands are tied by the City Ordinance.
So what hotel are we going to rent the parking lot in?

We're in.......we live 15 minutes away in Mount Pleasant. 8)

The stadium is on Daniel Island. There is ONE hotel on DI. Call right this minute if you need to be on the island. It's a pretty far walk to the venue but possible. There are tons of parking around the immediate area with restaurants........all walking distance. I feel like they would bend the rules about tailgating. This is SC.

If the hotel is full/too expensive, look at the intersection of 526 and 17 in Mount Pleasant. The Isle of Palms Connector has hotels with an easy trip to DI. The plus side is head to IOP to the beach the next day or beforehand.

My club is just getting organized so I can post any tailgating information as I find that out.

I'll need a head count to keep track of who's interested in tailgating with the Lowcountry Parrotheads. We're in the early stages of figuring this out.

Looks like way less than 10,000 seats. Tickets are showing up on secondary sites for $300 for the nosebleeds.

sorry posted this in the wrong thread......

I'm working on the tailgate. I talked to DIG (Daniel Island Grill) today and they were very receptive to having the Lowcountry Parrotheads host a pre-party. It's 5, easy walking, blocks from the venue. They have an outdoor space and we open to having live music.

This was after speaking to the venue again. They said they are inquiring to the city (Daniel Island/Charleston) to allow tailgating. But there is not really a large lot. They have 200 spaces, remote lots and street parking.

I'll keep everyone updated as I find out anymore information.

Linda, has your club talked to my club about being part of the tailgate you are planning? I could mention it if you want to see what they think.

I just got off the phone with the venue. They called me back with news of the tailgating issue. The city of Charleston has decided to allow tailgating for TWO HOURS before the show......starting at 5 pm. I have suggested moving on to Plan B which would involve a bar/restaurant close to the venue.

And Barry......I believe the plan would be able to accommodate our out of town fellow PHs. 8)
