But comparing the tailgate to Great Woods is making me check airfares for a quick weekend back in Tampa
Is it really close to GW....I do that and Jones Beach ALMOST every year...Cincinnati 3 times.
This one particular pirate is looking at 50 later this year. I guess I have to start cashing in a few fun tickets
Missed this when you first posted.....Anna Maria is our go to spot now. Enjoy.
Make the trip back. We used to live in Rhode Island so went to lots of GW concerts!
Tampa is absolutely awesome.
Hope to see you on the 3rd!

A huge P.I.T.A. getting the da.mn ticket, but I'm in.
It was worse than begging for sex.
Having a hard time getting in!!!
Keep trying.
In my 17 year experience with T.M./L.N., this was the worst I'vd ever had at getting past that silly-a$$ security entry thing. Took me over 20 minutes to "get it right", but finally got a so-so ticket.
Gave up for now , will A. Keep trying once in a while , B. wait till closer to the show to see what drops or C. For those that no me , wait till the day of the show , and get a great seat below cost or Free ( Pat and Jon know what I'm talking about) , which seems to work

If I knew Jimmy Buffett's secretary I'd just call her, offer her a poke, and get me free tickets for every show.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .
Tampa newbie here looking for tailgating for the show. Wife and I are retired and we moved to southwest Florida from New Jersey 2 years ago. We were regulars To JB's concerts in Camden.Tailgating in Camden was not the best to say the least! Any info or tips would be appreciated
Tailgating is wide open in Tampa. One of the best you can find.
If you cant figure out what to do 0- come find us. Will have a couple of flagpoles about 25' in the air flying multiple flags.
Or just follow the smell of the fresh gumbo on the grill!

Born and raised in Chicago and spent many years at Alpine. Also caught one show in Nashville. Now we live in Jacksonville and we are heading over for the show in Tampa! Can't wait, I've heard the tailgate is just as good as Alpine. The problem is, we are getting a hotel and plan to just Uber to the concert. Usually, we do bus trips with everything included, but don't have the crew to plan that this year. Any tips on making Tampa a great tailgate experience if we don't want to drive there?
@klapel
Even if you walk to the site, there are so many tents and events set up you can't help but find a crew to hang out with.
Many of the local Parrotthead Clubs will also be set up - check with the Jacksonville group and see if they have a crew heading over.
if all else fails, send out an all call of what you drink and i am sure we can fit a bottle or twelve on one of our tables.
Cheers and welcome to Florida.

Expect a cool tailgate for Tampa, as well as some fun the night before if you're staying nearby. I'll post more details as we get closer to the concert date, hope to see y'all there!
ps- A number of us are staying at the LaQuinta the night before the concert and are planning to meet up on the pool deck for some relaxation. If you would like to join, let me know who to "friend" on Facebook and I'll invite.
