okay, so does anyone have anything to say about the actual cd?? i've heard one song from it that i really like.. soo im just wondering
I hope that all the greedy bastards in the world
Come back as lobsters.
You know that life at the bottom of the food chain
Suits them well.
I think that all of the evil people of the world
Come back as horseflies,
They want one last bite before they're sent to hell.

I like the album. This album is definitely mellow, which to me is a good thing. I guess having the word lullabies in the title should be a hint that it is a mellow album. There are some upbeat songs though. Upside Down has a nice peppy beat to it. I like the harmonies on Wrong Turn. I definitely like the duets with G Love and Ben Harper. I have only listened to the album twice so far so I'm still learning the songs but I do like the feel it has. A lot of short songs on this one. Short but sweet.
Jimmy stares
Towards the bright Pleiades
It's so strange
What his distant eye sees
Who knows why you start
Rediscovering your heart
But you do it again and again

I bought the album, I love it! I'll go see the movie, and I'm looking forward to it. As far as Jack Johnson being to mellow, those of you Parrotheads that feel the same way about Ballads, please let me know, I'll take that "mellow" stuff off your hands. You would think it would be easier to not get on this post to talk about how bad it might be, before you take a chance on listening to it. Thanks Pleiades for the reminder!

I love most of Ballads (save for the horrid "Survive") but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm going to like Jack Johnson. To my ears there's a difference between mellow and boring and Jack falls into the latter category.

I bought this today, but haven't opened it yet, since I'm not around a cd player. I'm curious, by george, how I'll like it!

I bought it today ~ I like it. It is not as good as In Between Dreams, but I like it nonetheless!

JahFin, I may not share your opinion of JJ's music, but I'm LMAO at your above comparison. RIGHT ON!!! I downloaded this "disc" from iTunes the day it was released and it comes with a short video on "the making of" and I thought he looked a little apeish a few times as I watched it.
I however have to disagree about the music, "Upside Down" especially the remix is a great tune and I really love all of the collaborations. I've been listening to it since Tuesday.

I took my keet to see it today too! I liked the music and the movie was good. The keets all liked it in the theater. My keet actually stayed through the whole thing. The last movie I took him too, wallace and grommit, he wanted to leave about 10 minutes into it.

I read this this morning... took the keets this afternoon... awwwwwww! So cute!! My oldest, who was being moody and stubborn and pretending to not want to go, said as soon as it ended "I'm so glad I came with!!!"

And then I popped in the cd... like all other Jack I hear... me likey!! I find his music very soothing, uplifting, and groovy!! :)

I like the CD, some more than others.

I'll take the keets to see the movie, they already like the music.

I don't find the music boring, mellow yes, but not boring. And when I saw him live, I thought it was a fantastic show. Nothing like a Buffett show except that everyone seemed to be in a good mood and friendly.
