Jimmy moved from Summerfest to Alpine in the mid 90s because of the larger seating capacity. The Marcus only holds about 23,000 while Alpine can do 40,000 plus.ChzHeadParrothead wrote:Since it's hey day back in the 1980s, the number of shows Alpine has hosted has really declined.
The pool of artists that can actually fill Alpine is limited to begin with. With DMB and ZBB playing Summerfest this year, Alpine Valley may not have any shows at all this year.
I'll start the rumor, supposedly the people at Summerfest are working on some major announcements for this years lineup. How bout Jimmy for two nights?
Pearl Jam has played two nights at Summerfest before, no reason Jimmy couldn't do the same.
So far, Summerfest has announced some pretty major mainstage headliners....Bruno Marz, Lady Gaga, Zac Brown Band, and Dave Mattews Band. JB Would be a huge draw.
With no DMB at Alpine this year, I'm going to be bummed if Jimmy doesn't make it there either. There's been rumors for years of Alpine closing down. It's not a secret shows at Alpine each summer have dwindled significantly - mostly due to the local laws and curfews, etc. But Live Nation supposedly hasn't helped when they started with Alpine either. Alpine Valley is my favorite outdoor summer concert venue. It really is one of the most beautiful amphitheaters in the U.S. Fingers crossed that Irish Parrot is correct in this prediction.Irish Parrot wrote:Jimmy will be playing Alpine Valley in late August, don't have the exact date yet.

Can't be Beiber. Walworth County Cops would arrest him the second he crossed the County Line....they love busting underage drinking and drug use. With that kind of a warning? They'd have a field day!Nighthawk wrote:RumFan wrote:If Alpine's offering 'season' tickets.. definitely a promising sign that SOMEONE is going to be playing there!
It will be a weekend of:
Lady GagGag shows
Justin Beeber shows
They love busting ANYONE without an Wisconsin tag. I can attest to that one. Luckily I got nabbed before the show, and not after.CaptainP wrote:Can't be Beiber.
