Well, we have a few more days in the window for a concert announcement as the 2014 and 2015 shows were announced in mid April. I don't know (no pun intended) if the NYE thing was just a thought or an actual rumour, but I would prefer a summer show as well. I consider the concert the after party myself. This Canadian landshark comes down to the "D" for the TAILGATE. So let's keep our fingers crossed and hope we are all happy soon.

I don't have a lot of knowledge regarding concert announcements and time frames but I have to believe we are about out of time.

Dte still has alot of open days but many of those are the day after and before another show. They like that buffer to clean up and give both teams the chance to load in and load out for the shows on either end.

So really there are only a handful of dates that still make sense.

Ie. July 3rd a Tuesday seems like it would be open for Jimmy. The 20th is gone for idiot Ted Nugent and the 19th is Beach boys at Meadowbrook so I don't see a late July show anymore as possible. Sure the 21st is open for Jimmy and Wrigley is the weekend before but I just don't see it happening. You would have Jimmy coming in and setting up as the spooge is heading out and then Jimmy would have to be out before Shinedown pulls in for Sunday show. Dte doesn't like letting Saturdays in July sit open and neither Nugent or Shinedown have some massive setup .....or following but it doesn't seem like a good fit

I would say if dte doesn't come within the week..then we get a break this year. It's been a long g time since we didn't have a show... I won't complain either way.

So July 3 is out. Mac has a show in Carmel IN that day/night.

Welp....if the 20th goes then its NYE or bust like Tim said.

However like the good Dr. Said.....red wings play every year on NYE so I don't know where Jimmy would be.

I just can't see a Ford field show unless he brought Zac or Kenny with him and both have shows in Detroit this summer so I just don't see it.

I'm 60/40 that it's no show/nye

I got excited when I saw the auction item again this year. There was one last year, and of course we got Jimmy. I wonder if we're getting skipped over since it's been harder and harder for him to sell-out pavillion or field with the crazy prices they have been. Mind you I've paid it, and not complained, but I've also had decent seats at that price. I know last year they finally dropped the back pavillion seats to the cost of lawn which was smart.

Sad if Jimmy is passing us up this year....maybe he heard my school year has been insane and my divorce is final next week. And we didn't decide who got custody of Buffett, LOL. I think we agreed to share him. So I really could use a show, but I have NO time to prep for it this year or add something new, LOL.

I’m a pretty optimistic guy, researched dates, and kept that “this is the week” feeling, but I’m afraid we’re out.

I know this sounds soft and whiny, but Jimmy really is how I make it through a UP winter. Seasonal depression isn’t a treat, and the optimism of tour dates is always a bit of medication. I’m sure many of you are the same.

Here in the UP we were hit with 27 inches over the last weekend. Literally.

It’s going to be an odd summer not driving to see our yearly highlight.

Finally admitting that Alpine Valley is dead and buried, so moved over to here as our option for the summer. Still looking at those two Saturday dates in August and would road trip if Detroit area got announced!
Come on Jimmy!

I hate to agree with you but looks like no Jimmy in Detroit this year. At least not for the summer. I was holding out with a little bit of hope because of the auction. We will have to see what happens. The NYE rumour may be what we have to hold on to.

Looking pretty bleak. Should have heard something from 313 by now. Absolute radio silence.

I blame Wrigley and the spoiled brats in Chicago

Why is it that sometimes entertainers are so out of touch with their fans? Is it really all just a big money grab?

How incredibly disappointing ... Even if he announced for August we're probably done. We had to start making our other summer plans and reservations before our opportunities are unavailable. I am depressed ...

Livenation and 313 presents are having their annual concert sale Monday....they tried to get anything for the shows that were overpriced or for garbage that no one wants....

So 313's lineup is pretty much set. They announced to New shows for September which means if Jimmy isn't announce by next Friday.....it's officially over.

I imagine that it's already over but there is still a slight chance left that they didn't want to have it out there during the sale

I received a message there is no Detroit date what so ever in 2018, and that they hope to return next year. Start the ‘19 thread. Sad day.

Thanks Wrigley.

Between Wrigley and chesneys fascination with Ford field I'm really fed up with these damn stadiums shows on a yearly basis
