Piece of Work

Post by MargaritaMatt »

I know there are a lot of Toby Keith haters out there, but I dig him. And I really dig Piece of work, through the first four songs of the album, it is my favorite so far. Thanks CMT for letting us listen in!

I agree, Piece of Work comes off as a great song, and a good choice for TK. Jimmy really seems to be enjoying the song too, you can almost hear him smile. :D

If you like this song, check out the writer of the song-Will Kimbrough. Will is a great Guitarist/singer/songwriter. He's worked with Buffett, Rodney Crowell, and Todd Snider to name a few. Will has some great releases out. Go to www.waxysilver.com and check out Will Kimbrough.

Will is one of the reasons I can overlook Toby's participation on this song. What a great writer.

I used to really like Toby keith, I still do. I don't want to start a political debate, but lets just say him and I have some political differences. He is a very talented artist though. I really like this song. I think the song is a good fun work that regardless of what you think of Toby Keith, its enjoyable.
I've read dozens of books about heros and crooks and have learned much from both of their styles.

actually, believe it or not and as crazy as it sounds, i think he may actually be a democrat. . . . i was watching an interview with him and when asked what his political affiliation was, he did not want to comment but said his dad would always vote democrat no matter what, even if he didn't agree with the candidate. I know toby had a very close attachment to his dad so i wouldn't be surprised if he is democrat also, but sings from more of a conservative standpoint, since most of the country fanbase is conservative (and for the money)

Wow patriotism is now a Republican thing. So that would make Democrats Communists?

if you dont like toby (which im assuming you dont by what you wrote) you should listen to some of his earlier stuff, pre-"pull my chain." Its really high quality stuff, and its some of his best work and possibly some of the best country music from the 90s . . . but his new stuff is good too IMHO

I took no offense. I just wonder why we feel the need to categorize music.

Welcome to BuffettNews where if you don't say what people want you to say they'll say it for you.

For the record, I've heard some of Toby Keith's early work and it doesn't do anything for me.

Actually DsilCaribe, Jahfin has it all wrong. Several have been trying for months to explain to him it's not the fact there is a difference of opinion but rather the manner in which you express your opinion.

Personally I've had people offer different views and reasons why and changed my mind - they just wern't rude is all.
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.
