I agree. Any music that is laid back island is ok with me. Don't get me wrong, Jimmy's music is still the greatest, but I love any music with refrence to the islands.

To each his own. Plus everyone dances to a different drum. Let's see, any more cliches needed? Nope.

It's taken me a while to get back here, but this record is ANYTHING but a Buffett rip-off.

As someone mentioned, it's not as "islandy" as expected. It's not so much steel drums and Carribbean sounding... the best way to describe it that I can come up with is "reflective." It sounds like something a guy who was hanging out on the beach with a guitar would come up with.

It's pretty mellow, and for those of you who don't like country music, this doesn't sound like anything you'd hear on country radio.

I liked it. Mostly because it was different.

I really like KC,went to his concert in Nashville this year and I really enjoyed it!I think No Shoes,No Shirt,No Problems is one of the better country cd's thats came out recently, but for people who say KC is gonna replace Bubba,I dont think andybody will ever replace him. Just my thoughts.....

Old Blue chair video is on cmt.com now. He changed one of the lines to "the chair was my bed on New years night, when I passed out from to much Cruzan and diet".     Must be since Cruzan is a sponser now they dont want him singing "Malibu and diet" anymore. hahahaha

I liked it better the other way. I think that would puzzle someone that didn't know that Cruzan rum was his sponsor.

I really, really like that video and the song Old Blue Chair. Is that a new video? I had never seen it before now.

I guess Cinnamon Bay is a real place in the Virgin Islands? Anyone ever been there?

Yeah, the video is new. CMT is releasing a bunch of new videos this week for the New Year. Man, Old Blue Chair made me want to be on the beach...

I've been listening to Kenny Chesney on CMT all weekend. I don't hear steel drums very much on the newer stuff on CMT.com.

Also, I have heard Back Where I Come From. Duh, I didn't know Kenny had recorded one of Mac's songs. Where have I been? I knew that song sounded familiar.

Watching Kenny with John Cougar Mellancamp now on CMT.

I believe I heard steel drums on five songs, some more subtle than others. I hope it's really Robert Greenidge.
I really like all of the conga drums too.

I recently found out about the Mac cover too.

not only that, but he's recorded a Buffett song and a Josh Leo song. . . .I think Kenny must want to be a Coral Reefer or something

I think it's an awesome collection of songs ! I think his past two cd's have very much had an island feel to them as well, but this one especially so. I also don't think he's a being a Buffett rip-off in any way. Kenny is putting his own feelings and experiences into it. I actually wish he would have put a Buffett cover on this one, he did a great job with Come Monday on the last one (Target bonus cd). :pirate:

I just find it very interesting that Kenny has a Mac song from Simple Life in 1989 on his Me and You CD in 1996. I know...I know. Mac is great and works with lots of folks.

Cool!

Back Where I Come From is also on KC's Greatest Hits cd...

And Jimmy played it at the Sat Tinley show in 2003 - 8/23/03 I believe. Great song!
