1. "You can't have too many friends." This is something I have always said and live by.
2. "BE SAFE." When my two boys became teenagers (currently 20 & 21) I realized that they would run arround and do the things I did at that age. I was not always safe, but I was lucky. So instead of telling them not to do the things I did at their age (drinking and smoking
) I just told them to "be safe". Told them to call me or stay where they were if driving was out of the question. Well (pat myself on the back here) they listen to me. And made it through the teenage years without too many battle scars.
