I haven't seen it either, but as I was telling Jen while watching it on GlobeTrekker the other night, it is also COLD. If you're gonna do it, pack accordingly. Did I mention it was COLD? :o
yup, like 30 degrees, or so. :o
See, I said it was COLD!

Breeze, that sucks about your friend's program...what a loss... :(  :x
Haleakala was awesome. We booked with Cruiser Phil and they give you all the extra clothes you need to stay warm! This is the only place in the world that you can go from 10,000 feet to sea level in 40 miles.

Ditto recommendation on the Trilogy Lanai trip, Mama's Fish House and Road to Hana.

CIP in Lahaina is not a JB/Outback venue - still fun but long lines.

The airplane trip to the big island to see the volcano flows was wonderful and a must do. The only other thing I would recommend is Ioa - wont take long but interesting history and great views.

ENJOY!

Been there.... It is cool...literally......A fun thing to do is bring bubbles up with you.... As you blow into the bubble your breath (the steamy stuff) gets captured in the bubble and your bubbles float around looking like bubbles of fog or steam...pretty cool effect....

Also fun to ride the bikes down the hill......fast and fun

I loved the stage show Ulalena. Tells the complete history of the islands and some very powerful music, especially the drums.

Love "Up Country" and Paia (where the windsurfers look like so many colored butterflies). Willie lives in Paia and has been known to frequent the bars there.

Of course, the Whale's Tail (but I think The Whale Shark and Tatiana are stateside right now).

The Congregational Church at McKenna is awesome.

Big Beach is not to be missed. All the locals go there and it's such fun.

Congratulations and every happiness to you and your bride.

Actually the Whales Tail changed hands and Erik and Tat are now hanging out at the Cool Cat Cafe......same complex on the south end

Also the road to Hana is cool But the rest of the road from Hana around to the south side is very cool...kinda a jungle to desert drive....and on the way you can visit Charles Lindberg's grave.....

The diving on the backside of Monokini is awesome.....
As well as the diving off of Lanai.....

Oh yeah.....
Cool Cat Cafe has Erik playing ( www.thewhaleshark.com ) And has good bar and grill type food (in Lahaina across from the Banyan tree)...
Jimmy has been known to show up at Longi's after a show.....
Goofy Foot Surf Sports (505 Front street complex) is the guy that Jimmy surfs with when he's in Hawaii.......

As far a snight life goes.... We stay at the pioneer inn in Lahaina, Catch Erik's show at cool Cats and then go hang out on the balcony of the hotel room and drink beer and tequila as we watch the human parade....... Usually Erik shows up and we end up really getting drunk.....

Sorry its taken me so long to post, but our honeymoon in Hawaii was wonderful! We're back in Knoxville now getting settled into our new house and getting started with our life together. I'm working on some photo albums from the trip on Shutterfly, and will post them on here as soon as I can. Thanks for all of the great suggestions, it was a dream come true!
