I think this is finally the year that the price is too high for me to see Jimmy. If I had unlimited funds I might pay $126 plus fees to see him but I don't have $600 for 4 tickets. I could use that money for so many other things at this point in my life. I also don't think I should pay the same price to sit in the last 2 rows at Nissan as the person sitting in the orchestra that is a bit insane. Just for kicks I checked some other shows on TM and Dave Matthews tickets are running $50-$75 for the most expensive tickets and Kenny Chesney tickets are running $47-$77 for the most expensive tickets.

I do agree they are getting exspensive, but it's not just a concert its an adventure! I went to my first concert when I was 17 and I have now seen 30+ shows in the those 20 years. This is something I look forward to every year. I have paid as little as $10 to sit in the lawn and over $400 to sit in the front row. To me ti's worth it.

many in our PHC are super ticked off about prices. Seriously...think about all we do in the name of "parrot heads" and, ultimately, Buffett himself. If anything, those in official PHC's should be able to get some sort of deal....how much time, money, sweat, etc, do we donate each year.

I just got a new job today that doubled my salary. Literally, if I hadn't been offered this position and money, there would have been no buffett for us this year. and we are as giving and loyal as they come.....f****!

Hi All, rarely post, mostly lurk, but...my two cents is:

What do you mean the tix are too expensive...it's a great bargain to hang out with a pack of drunks constantly walking in front of your during the show to hit the can, singing off key the same set list, sometimes before Jimmy himself does. (Sarcasm in case you missed it.)

That's it for me and my group. This tour (should be called Take the Money and Run, '06) after 31 years of seeing the summer tour, I am done! Too much money for the hassle, same tired set list, out of control partyers that have just ruined it. I can spend $150 in a better way. I wish you all luck in getting tickets, but the tour has lost it's shine for me. First Fingers gone, now the horn section.

I have an idea, JB could get a band of animatronic players (ala Disney World) and lip synch to SYKBH that way he would not have to spend any money on a band. If, as I read in an article on the Riverbend tickets 90% of the ticket cost goes to the artist this is just too much. (Jimmy will still get his bucks from me via album sales as I love his music, but no more of this preconcert baccanal AA recruitment "experience/party" over a great concert that used to be more about the music than all this other crap.

Usually I don't complain about ticket prices but as I posted at another board, the bottom line $$ for this tour just got wider. Higher ticket prices and less personnel (the horn section) to pay, house, feed. If the cutting of personnel went to keep the ticket prices down, I could somewhat see it but the combination of both is a little hard to understand.

How do you know that his overhead hasn't increased in some other way? The rising price of fuel for all those trucks, buses, and planes has to amount to a huge increase. Even with the reduction in staff, this tour may still be costing him more than last year's. We have no way of knowing this.

And, remember, JIMMY DOES NOT SET THE PRICES!!!! THE VENUES DO!!!
We don't know that Jimmy is charging them one penny more this year. As far as ANY of us know, the venues have just decided that they can make more money because he's more popular than ever....

Is this in fact true? I've heard convincing arguments on both sides.

I've known people in the past that have worked at theaters and ampitheaters that say the artist charges the venue to have them play. The venue is in charge of selling the tickets.

(I know the "I know someone who knows" arguement doesn't do much, but it's what I have.)

Think I'll start a new thread...

"Why aren't lawn prices higher?"

I mean if people like jimmy so much and lawn prices are close to the same as last year, why are we complaining. He is doing less dates this year and we should be happy that he is still touring. I am just happy to go see him.
