IMPORTANT TRAFFIC ALERT

Just in case people are cutting through Pittsburgh via the 376 Parkway.

It will be CLOSED ALL WEEKEND (Friday at 8pm through Sunday) at the Squirrel Hill Tunnel.

Just a heads up for anyone coming from the east of Pittsburgh.

For those living in the area, I know there's been construction basically right at the Burgettstown/Star Lake exit. So I'd leave extra early because IF it's one lane on 22, it will be a MESS.

Tailgating Policy - New for 2007!
Tailgating is permitted only for guests with tickets to the show!
Pre-concert tailgating is permitted only until the start of the show!
Tailgating rules prohibit glass bottles in our lots!
Tailgate responsibly, and be courteous & kind to your neighbors!

what about if your friends have tickets? you are picking your tickets up at will-call?, you are meeting someone in the lots with your tickets?

What about all the people who are on buses? Are they gonna stop every bus at the entrance, board it, and ask to see everyone's tickets?

Karat,

One year my buddy Mike tied a balloon to kite string and reeled it some 200 or 300 feet in the air so friends could find us and they all did. I may try that again for the heck of it so yinz will know where I will be.

Tiki Gods Tickets and Hell, next

Morning all...

There used to be a website like PennDotman or Coneman for traffic alerts.
www.coneman.com I could be wrong if you go to
www.kdka.com They typically give good traffic alerts.

I did not hear about 22/30 construction - of course that does not surprise me either. The state tree is an orange barrel.

Meeting other PH/BNers tonight for a pre-concert dinner, looking forward to it!

Tiki gods - hang em high! (at least you may find your car later)

Tickets only in the parking lot....that will stop at car #20 after fighting with parking people....too many get tickets day of....purchase on lot or WILL CALL... Yeah explain that one....if the ticket(s) are at Will Call.

If there are 5 tickets at Will Call, they are only under ONE name...

Chew on that....

Have a good one folks - I'm in hell at work, swampped! It is just after 6AM and already 70!!!

Looking for hotel information. I am sure somewhere in these 51 pages there is a discussion about hotels in the area. I know they are all booked, but we are going to try to get a cancellation. I have a reservation for the airport La Quinta, but wifey wants a closer hotel. When I search Hotels.com and Travelocity.com they show me hotels in Washington, PA, which is 2 hours Northeast of PIT! Any ideas? I definitely appreciate any and all assistance. Thank you.

PIA, you can add y-no to your list on page 1. Bringing Mrs. y-no, our friend and her Buffett-show-Virgin fiancee. Notes on how to find people in the parking lot would also be well received in your page 1 post.

Check Steubenville Ohio. Its about 20 miles west of the venue and there are BN'rs staying in the area.

For the Starlake newbies.....

Figure on getting into the lot between 1 and 2. I don't think they have ever opened the lot later than 2 due to the traffic problems.

Get there really early at your own risk. In the past couple of years, cops have been roaming and attempting to break up the early gatherings. Of course, their attempts are fruitless come 1pm when Rt 18 is lined with cars waiting to get in line.

The glass bottles thing is never enforced.

The "ticket only" tailgating is never enforced.

In fact, the only thing that the cops will give you a hard time about is if you set up a tent in the middle of the parking aisle, or there is blatant underage drinking or fighting. Otherwise its pretty much anything goes.

Going out to pick up jello shot cups in about an hour.....you know the concert is close when you spend lunch hour buying jello shot cups.
