I think you saw him at Joe's Pub, not BBKing...at least I did....LIPH wrote:That makes sense, that was when I saw him at BB King's. There were 2 drunken frat boy types next to me at the bar. When Jake finished his set one of them turned to me and said "this motherf**ker is bad." I think that meant he liked him.

No, it was BB King's. Jake was the opening act for something called Karl Denson's Tiny Universe. Mac McAnally's show last September was the only time I've ever been to Joe's Pub.Pleasin & Teasin wrote:I think you saw him at Joe's Pub, not BBKing...at least I did....LIPH wrote:That makes sense, that was when I saw him at BB King's. Thanks so much for posting the link!!!!
We actually got to see Jake in DC on Sunday -- he played with the Air Force Band -- awesome as usual! Sorry I didn't think to relay the set list.
Several of the same songs from NYC.
I usually prefer it when he plays solo, even on his CD's, but playing with the AF band sounded pretty cool! And he was totally humbled by it as only Jake could be!! The conductor was floored by him as was the audience (many of whom, I'm sure, had never heard of him!) Standing ovations and encore -- pretty neat!!
Thanks again for the link!!
