I get it IF you from out of town and want to drink a very overpriced beer in a bar where Ben Franklin sat and where they announced to Boston that the Declaration of Independence was signed (town crier - - -- Bell in Hand . . . clever) but why locals p*** their money away there is beyond me . . . just too much money.popcornjack wrote:Bell yes, Oyster no.drunkpirate66 wrote:I can't get the link . . . but I assume that the Bell in Hand and the Oyster House are on top of that list . . . both Boston tourist holes.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

Have only been to Lafitte's, but I'm not sure that is orignally where the Lafitte's had their blacksmith shop. I'll have to look it up. I read a book about them called the Pirates Lafitte and I don't remember their blacksmith shop being on Bourbon. Regardless it is a great bar and I go everytime I go to Nawlins. Will be their on Friday night also. The others are on my someday I will list. Suprised to see Tobacco Road in Miami wasn't on there. Thought it was old, guess not that old. [/i]

Yeah, that's the place. I had lunch there a few years ago.green1 wrote:Michie Tavern in Charlottesville. Been to 1 and 2.
The Bell in Hand isn't bad it is just very much a tourist trap. Last November we had friends visiting Boston for the first time, I asked what they wanted to do and they said go eat at the Oyster House and then go to the Bell in Hand followed by stopping at Mike's Pastry's. So it was one of those nights but it was fun because I don't get to those places much at all unless I am with out of towners.
