That is utter BS. They better keep it to the east coast...no reason for it to go up here.Marnin Grita Guy wrote:Make that 24 cents a gallon!Marnin Grita Guy wrote:Just got a call for Stu, He goes in at 5am but was called to go change gas

And yet we have a surplus of gas since people are driving less, refineries were going to start cutting production so they had an excuse to play the supply and demand game... Looks like for as much as we are trying to repel Ike, the refineries and oil companies are hauling out the welcome wagon.Marnin Grita Guy wrote:The excuse will be oil platforms shutdown in the GulfBrown Eyed Girl wrote:That is utter BS. I remember the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990.CaptainP wrote:Person #1: "Oh, look, ***insert random excuse here*** is happening. We'd better raise gas prices by ***insert random number here***!"
Person #2: "But that doesn't affect us at all here in ***insert random city here***"

The invasion happened around 1:30 AM Central time.
C.N.N. (I think) broke the story within a half hour.
By 3:00 AM the price of gas in the Memphis, TN area went from $1.15 per gallon to a WHOPPING $1.45.
Made sense to ME.
And another 16 cents this morningejr wrote:The north 'burbs went up about 10 cents a gallon yesterday-we'll see what the price is in the morningGlorfindel7 wrote:No worries... I figured that out already this morning

Same here. They passed some sort of price gouging bill shortly after that, which has apparently had zero effect. The gas price website says the cheapest around here is now 3.77.Wino you know wrote:I remember the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990.CaptainP wrote:Person #1: "Oh, look, ***insert random excuse here*** is happening. That's about what it is here. I think it's 10 cents per gallon cheaper for the ethanoyl crap, but I NEVER put that sh*t in either of my vehicles or my work car.chippewa wrote:Same here.
