James Taylor at Tanglewood

Post by ScarletB »

He'll be there for 2 nights solo Aug 28 & 29. Of course the 29th might be Jimmy at GW but it's only a 2 hour drive from Tanglewood to GW. I'm planning on catching both somehow. Seeing JT in his backyard is always a treat. He will also appear along with the Boston Pops on Sunday the 30th.

God i love when summer concert dates start! :D Makes this icy cold Vermont day more bearable!

Beautiful venue and if I understand correctly it was specially built with acoustics in mind. There really isn't a bad seat in the place and of course there's always the lawn.

The only downside is that the closest lodging that most people can afford is in Pittsfield which is a bit of a drive.

Tickets run from $85 for the front sections to $62 for the rest of the pavillion and $24 for lawn.
On sale date is Feb 15. There is an advance sale for members so I imagine a lot of close up seats will be gone but like I said, there really isn't a bad seat in the house.

I've seen JT many times over the years but never at Tanglewood. I imagine it must be a perfect setting for him.

I saw James Taylor do the one man band thing in Beverly Hills a few years ago. Tickets were not cheap, but I would go and pay it again in a second. It was absolutely wonderful….

I finally managed to get some tix for his concert with the Pops. Even with the presale advantage i couldn't get closer than 3 sections back. But tix were only $70 and acoustically there really isn't a bad seat in the house. I haven't seen him in many years - which is my own fault since he LIVES in New England - so I'm looking forward to it. I imagine a lot of his songs will be even more beautiful backed up by a full orchestra. Though he is one artist who is fantastic just alone on the stage with his guitar. I'm not even going to LOOK at whats left for his solo concert the night before. Plus I worry that Aug 29 will end up being a Jimmy day in MA and I'll have to sell the JT tix anyway.

SPOILER ALERT FOR MOVIE COMING OUT LATER THIS YEAR

Don't read if you don't want to know................................

Still here?
Okay.
My buddy in Hollyweird was just an extra for the hell of it for two days on the new Judd Apatow movie called FUNNY PEOPLE.
It stars Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen.
The scene?
A MySpace Employee party with lots of people.
My friend was sitting front row in this crowd, about ten feet from a stage.
Well, he had no idea what was about to happen:
JAMES TAYLOR walked out and sat on the stage!
He performed for over 2 hours!!!!
Then, in what could possibly be in the movie or closing credits, Adam Sandler sang YOU'VE GOT A FRIEND with James Taylor. I kid you not.
He said it was a very fun two days and he had no idea James Taylor would be there.
FUNNY PEOPLE comes out in August toward the end of the year.
