Jimmy said Ilo was doing Mohegan Sun again -I think he said tonight(my ears were hurting-I'm pretty sure that's what he said) All this for a mere $35!!!!!!

Oh, Jimmy's son Cameron was there as his dad's "roadie" -he gave his dad his guitar!!
According to MS website he will be there on Monday for two shows - 7 pm & 9 pm - free admission. This might be a roadtrip for me. Hubby is coming down from Maine after a weekend of sailing - might be meeting him there and talking him to calling out sick or "still sailing" on Tuesday!

FB is cool and all but lemme tell you, if JB or any other musician I enjoy listening to is 10 feet away from me, the very last thing I'll be doing is taking the time to post online.....

I tried to imagine it from the artist's point of view. He steps up to the mic, looks out, and half the audience has their head buried in their phone/iPhone/Blackberry, texting/posting. One thing at a big venue where the artist can't see beyond a couple of rows but kinda rude in a small venue, imho....

Wish I didn't have to work tomorrow. Would have loved to see Ilo at that venue, cool plus to have JB show up, and the Wounded Warrior Project is one of the best charities out there, doing great things for the people who protect us. Happy for the lucky few there!
I totally agree with you Jen!!!

I totally agree with you SGH!!! I think, imho, it even goes to someone snapping a zillion pictures (with flash), especially in such a small venue. A very wise priest once told me that you will take much more away from an event by taking the time to absorb what is happening than trying to capture it on film. We try to get one or two good shots (so we have them for our upcoming senior moments! [smilie=eye.gif]) and then put the camera down and enjoy the moment.

That being said, we made it out last night and had the best time!! Got there by 7:45 and the line wasn't too bad at all so we were able to get a good spot inside. It was hot and it was crowded but we had a blast! A little tough getting up this morning, but . . .

Ilo was fantastic -- great voice, great musician, great personality and definitely not bad to look at either!! And he's got a great smile too! [smilie=battingeyes.gif] We loved seeing Jimmy but would have enjoyed the whole thing even if it was just Ilo and his band. We also enjoyed watching Jimmy off to the side watching the show -- looked like he was having as much fun off stage as on! When Jimmy was introduced, he said he felt like the proud papa!

Definitely worth catching Ilo at Mohegan Sun or anywhere else he may be playing. We purchased the cd last night but feel it doesn't do justice to seeing him in person (I guess it never does). So if you can catch the live act, go for it -- you won't be disappointed!!
