Black Friday Anyone?

Post by buffettbride »

Where are my BF peeps? I know you are out there!

Where do you shop? What are you after this year?

Here is a helpful resource: http://www.bfads.net

Hubby and I go every year and have a splendid time. This year, Toys R Us opens at midnight, so we'll go there and then probably to Wal Mart after.

Not only no, but hell no. [smilie=grrrrrr.gif]

I'll gladly fork over a couple hundred extra bucks NOT to mess with the whacko crowd people. Much better to spend the day doing something fun/outside/whatever. 8)

awwww.... I love whacko crowd people. [smilie=battingeyes.gif] They make me giggle.

I will admit last year I didn't go out, got just as good deals online.
Most of the stuff I buy anymore, isn't BF material, although, with the grandbaby now, I may be out there beating the helll outta another gramma over that last barbie on the shelf!!!!

We don't really mind the crowds and rarely do we go after the super "hot items." We do like to get the deals mostly on Legos and video games which are invariably on sale on Black Friday.

It's also a chance for hubby and I to do our shopping together. MIL always watches the kids for us. I usually curse when I have to get out of bed so danged early, but this year, I don't even think I'm GOING to sleep.

I'm in the HEYLLLLLLLL NO! category... And given that pretty much every store has had everything on "sale" for months, how much more can they discount? Not to mention that they fail to replenish the stock for all these sales, what's up with that? :-? Maybe if I had kids I'd be more inclined to hit BF, but I don't need anything and most of what I'll get for Blake and DeeDee will be bought online and shipped directly.

Now if REI had a big BF blowout I might be first in line!

I love how you and Matt make a "date" of it, Mal....that definitely makes it a lot more fun. :D

LOL...neither do I. Thank god hubby does or we'd never have any food in the house.

Put me in the "sometimes" category. I don't go just to go, but if I see things I like in the ads, I'll head out.

Really only have to look at one ad, Walmart, since any other big-box stores at least 2 hours away...

Ditto what SharkOnLand said. I'll look through the ads from the paper, and if I see anything that I either need or really want, I'll go out and face the mob. I won't go out just for the sake of going out, though.

Did it 1 time -a long time ago -hubby had to knock an old lady over (yes he really did) to get the last "Talking Big Bird" - that's how long ago it was!!!
Will never do it again -I hate crowds & like some of you I even hate grocery shopping -when I broke my hip hubby had to do the grocery shopping & he loves it -so guess who does it now 8) 8)

:o

Working BF is much crazier than shopping on BF... I used to work for Walmart, when I was in college. Working electronics when everybody and their dog wanted the $99 TV. It's like refereeing one of those Royal Rumbles in the old days of the WWF... :pirate:

Ok.... STLP, you may have provided inspiration there.... going just to watch the whacko crowd people (and not to shop) might be fun. There ought to be some way to come up with a drinking game for that...
