Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup
Congrats to USA a very good, solid if unspectacular team performance. It bodes well for the next two games when Bradley can be a bit more offensive minded. The entire team should hold their heads high this evening.
Cheers

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup
some internet jokes from england supporter website at the expense of mr. green...
* At least that's one British spillage the Americans won't be moaning about...
* What's the difference between Robert Green and Justin Bieber? Robert Green knows how to drop his balls.
* Kermit was right: It's not easy being Green.
* The England lads had a get-together after the game and bought Robert Green a drink to commiserate. He spilled it.
* Steven Gerrard said: "The whole team is behind Rob Green." With hindsight, that's a good place to stand.
* Robert Green - a joke even Americans can understand.
* Yesterday at London Zoo one of the staff let a a Central American monkey slip out of his grasp. So Robert Green's not the only English keeper to drop a Howler.
* My computer's got the Robert Green virus. It can't save anything.
* Just bought a Robert Green condom. Extra slippery and you're guaranteed not to catch anything.
* I'm Robert Green and cleaning Windows is my next idea...
* All these Rob Green jokes are getting out of hand. In fact they're crossing the line...
And the best England v USA joke which doesn't feature Robert Green is.. .
* It was a clever move to bring Shaun Wright-Phillips on. For 15 minutes the Americans were stunned, thinking Gary Coleman had come back to life.

So far a very disappointing WC. Too much coaching and teams are just content to pack things tight and hope for a single goal on the break.
Hopefully the second round of games will be more open.
Cheers

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup
Green is supposedly affected by the loss of a girlfriend. Granted, she's an English Lingerie model, and her left forearm weighs more than Posh Spice, but I am thinking "Ooops" would have been a better explanation

I saw this story...bizzare at best. I think about how much logo clothing that was given to me over the years...guess I better not wear it to a World Cup match. BTW - none of it is an orange mini skirt.

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup
What a game by the US. I've never felt so deflated by a draw. The non-goal was a horrible call. I'm worried about our chances to advance; we really could have used the 3 points.
Twenty degrees and the hockey games on...
Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup
England and Algeria played to a 0-0 draw. By my calculations, the current group standings:
Slovenia 4
England 2
USA 2
Algeria 1
Slovenia 4
England 2
USA 2
Algeria 1

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup
Flip USA and England. USA's 3 goals scored to England's 1 goal score give them an edge going into the final games if they end up tied in points.bravedave wrote:England and Algeria played to a 0-0 draw. By my calculations, the current group standings:
