(((Adrian))) Sorry you had to be insulted like this. Little do they know what an awesome tailgate you and others put together for Tampa!

Their lost!

I agree with the ladies.

The Margaritaville party sounds nice, but why can't the BN group find our own small section of a lot or garage to tailgate together. I think we could have a great time, even without live entertainment.

I have to add that I have tried some of their snake oil, and its some good $h!t. It kinda taste like RUM!!!

Adrian,
I am afraid you were doomed by your own success. When we came to the Tampa tailgate that you organised we could not believe what you had achieved for the money and I hear they have gone on to get better and better. Why they could not have looked at past BN posts I don't know, but the behaviour of the Orlando club does not surprise me they seem to pre-occupied by politics of their organisation.
All that are going have a great time and hopefully see you all next year.

Yep, basically our options are:

1. Tailgate at the Amway Center with or without live entertainment, awaiting venue tailgate details to be published in early January.

2. Tailgate at the Amway Center with or without live entertainment, purchasing parking from the company the mgmt pointed me to (which may or or may not be near the city tailgate area).

3. Tailgate at margaritaville at $10 with john frinzi, john patti, and use their shuttle to the concert.

If choosing to tailgate the arena, I'd recommend option 1, as option 2 may place us away from the tailgate action in an area of town where having a crowd would be helpful if we're not hiring security.

Option 3 comes with high quality entertainment with no entertainment up-front cost, logistics, work, but has a higher back-end cost for drinks/food.

MobileTikiBar wrote:OK, here's the latest news on tailgating for the concert on Feb 4th in Orlando.

The Amway Center venue management had intended to publish their tailgating details about two weeks ago. They're running behind schedule, and have indicated that plans should be publicly available at the beginning of January. They've pointed me to a company that owns a parking lot right next to the venue, in case we desired to try and purchase parking ahead of time.

For the entertainers I had previously booked, I set them free, and John Frinzi has already been booked to play the day of the concert, Saturday, Feb 4th. As I understand it, Margaritaville doesn't have any coral reefer plans for Friday night, but they are planning a full day tailgate on Saturday the 4th and will be sectioning off a good portion of Citywalk for the tailgate event. Entrance fee is expected to be around $10, and include a bus shuttle to the concert from Margaritaville/Citywalk. John Frinzi, John Patti and another artist will be playing, and it sounds like a lot of fun to me, especially given the setting the new venue is in.

I feel the Citywalk/Margaritaville tailgate may be the most enjoyable for folks from out of town. I'm game for what the BN crew is up for, but so far, the folks I've spoken with about this earlier today agree that the MVille/Citywalk plan sounds the best.

Let's chat about what y'all would like to do and we'll figure out the next steps forward.

Thanks

i agree on the Margaritaville / Citiwalk idea......also , my SIL's brother is the GM of a new place opening i think New Years Eve....it's in the wall street area, i think she said that.....i'd have to find out the name of the place and maybe i can put you in contact with him....not sure on what type of place it is.

I like the idea on tailgating in the parking lot like other Buffett tailgates. The problem I see with the shuttle to the concert from Margaritaville, is getting the shuttle back where we left our vehicles.

We are driving down, so can bring items to the tailgate if they is what we all decide.

I agree with David!

Is there no chance you and Sally will make it over the pond for any of the Florida concerts - it would be great if you can join us. We leave from Gatwick on the 25th (BA) xx

Wow.. Sorry Adrain that you had to go thru all of this!! Sounds likes the Orlando club just doesn't get it!!

I like the idea of all meeting up and hanging together at Margaritaville on Sat. That way we will have music, food and drink, and you don't have to go thru anymore hoops for us!! You need to have some fun!! :D

I figure we could all chip in for a cab to Margaritaville on Sat. Take the shuttle to the venue and then walk back to the hotel afterwards. Just an idea.

We are staying across from Amway as recommended by a few here, so the shuttle works for us. We (me, and two virgins) had never been to CityWalk (Mrs. Conch was years ago) and were planning on being there Friday night. We didn't want to miss a pre-show tailgate, but on at Margaritaville with a shuttle back sounds perfect. we can take advantage of CityWalk and the tailgate experience at the same time.

Can I assume that one can enter and exit the Margaritaville tailgate if you pay? That there are wristbands of some sort? Or is it once you leave you're out?

Oh, and Adrian, I concur. I've never been to one of your tailgates, but I do know what it's like to offer assistance and experience only to have others not understand that "help" only means that, and not "I'm putting you down and taking over".

When that happens, breathe in, breathe out, move on.

I think we should just head to margaritaville. If it is going to be a nightmare to tailgate over by the arena then I say forget it. It will cost more to go to margaritaville but it will be less stressful..
