This is The Sphere, it was in the plaza between the twin towers of the World Trade Center for 30 years. The building under construction in the background is the new 1 World Trade Center.

I have always loved the two beams of light as a tribute. I know early on that some folks objected (not fancy enough?) but I love the starkness and simplicity of it.

On a lighter note (no pun intended), I went to Joe's Pub and saw a singer named Paloma Faith. She's from the UK and this is her first US tour. Think Amy Winehouse without the heroin and you'll have an idea what she sounds like. She said her first album came out in 2009 but was never released here, her 2nd album is supposed to be out in November. I only knew one of her songs, Stone Cold Sober, and she didn't do it. She has some strange looking hair.

There was a car show at a town park at the beach today. This car was in the parking lot during the tailgate at the Jones Beach Buffett show. I'll say the same thing now that I said then - who does s*** like this to a Mercedes?


I've never seen one of these big wind turbines on Long Island before.


It's a Ford, I think the sign on the windshield said 1934.


I have no idea what this is, there was no info about it, but it looked cool.


I don't remember what this was.

Last car looks similar to the 1934 Ford too. A 3-window also? Hard to tell with street cars all souped up.
