Mville AC
Living in NJ, I am so excited that AC is opening a major Mville themed casino and entertainment complex. The plan is to have an opening on Memorial day weekend, which I am planning of having my bachelor party! I hope Jimmy plays a free opening concert because we will be there! C'mon Jimmy! Early wedding present please!

Does anyone know how much damage hurricane Sandy did to the Boardwalk area? The reports we've heard are not good as a massive bit of the boardwalk is gone.

sounds like the casinos made it through with minimal damage. In fact read where Tropicana sustained less damage then when Irene hit couple years back.

Like KrusinParrots said, I saw reports that a large amount of the Boardwalk was lost, and that much of the sandy beach is also gone; while it's too soon to tell, they estimate that in some spots as little as 25 feet may be all that's left.

That is awlful. We have such fond memories of AC. Very sad Has anyone heard what the status is of the Steel Pier with all the rides as well as the Forum shops at Caesar's (the mall that was built out on another pier)?
We're hoping this doesn't throw a monkey wrench into things. Guessing that Jimmy would be able to rebuild the beach area. Hopefully there was minimal damage at the casino.
I hope when they are able that they give us an update as soon as they know what damage there was or wasn't.

Re: Mville AC
When I saw the original concept drawing of all those structures on the beach I wondered how practical it would be should a major storm hit. Hurricane Sandy has washed away large portions of the AC beach & boardwalk. Doubt that we'll see these planned structures permitted now as the city ponders its future......

BUMP
I just spoke with a friend of mine who is in AC and spoke to a manager at the resort. They say they are still aiming to have renovations completed for a Memorial Day weekend opening!
Prices are not in the reservation system yet for May but should be by the second week of February!
Does anyone have any updates to add!!
We're really excited about this and can't wait for May to get here!!

Re: Mville AC
We were down in AC last weekend to check out the progress on M'ville. The beach bar seems to be coming along. There was even Jimmy Buffett music playing outside where they are building! But could not see anything inside of Resorts b/c there were partition walls all along the construction zone. The sign says opening Spring 2013. Fins up Jersey!

The resort is now taking reservations for Memorial Day weekend! We made ours and plan to be there Thursday - Tuesday! The reservations representative says they have been told that there will be special events all weekend to celebrate the opening!

Wow. This looks like a big complex. I just went to the casino in Biloxi and it doesn't seem near this big. I'll have to put this on the bucket list.

Re: Mville AC
I heard from a reliable source that they are running a bit behind, which could cause a delay in opening. If the weather co-operates the time could be made up. Here is a pic of the progress so far on the beach bar, taken last Saturday.
