I was looking at the road closures from last years race and estimated reopenings...it's doable, just prepare yourself for a congested downtown area and some creative navigation to get around later road closures that interfere with normal routes to downtown. Broadway should be open again well before noon.
I knew this girl made of memories and phrases, who lived her whole life in both chapters and stages.
Danced 'til the dawn, wished all her worries away.

She's a long way from a West Nashville grand ballroom gown.

There are a few hotels in Bellevue on Highway 70 S, which turns into Broadway. It's about 15 miles down from the venue. Might try booking there. That's where I live. It's an easy ride to the venue because it's a straight shot... it's on the same road.
Margaritaville is also across the street from the venue, & I mean literally across the street. So Parrotheads can enjoy the restaurant, which is fairly big.

You can try hotels in the Brentwood/Cool Springs/Franklin area south of town. Angie and I will be there with bells on.

As I have found out many times before, lodging downtown is an issue if there is ANY event going on. Let alone if there are 2 EVENTS!

2 years ago (last time JB was in Nash.) I lucked up and hit the renaissance before word got out and got a room for around $125.00 per night!!!! within a day the hotel had jacked the price up to $350.00!

This time as soon as I heard the date I started my search again. Most were already full and those who were not full were over $350.00! I lucked up and picked up a room at the Hampton inn beside the hall of fame for $250.00 with tax per night. Within an hour of booking that same room went to $400 with tax!!!

And FYI, NOBODY is accepting Military or government rates downtown that weekend....

I love being able to "walk home" and having that option all day long to refresh, so I am willing to spend a few extra $ to stay close.

Yes there is a lack of a good tailgate location but I must say they did a good job with the street party last time, but I do hope they go more trop rock with the entertainment this time around if they have the street party.... (Homemade Wine and Jake Thomas would be great choices!!!!)

FYI, for anyone looking.
There are some rooms still blocked off at some downtown hotels under the Music City Marathon.

http://runrocknroll.competitor.com/trav ... e-view-all

Some listed are ones saying sold out via regular avenues of searching for rooms and some are a better rate (the Doubletree stands out at almost $150.00 less going this route.). From all I can see these rates are open for spectators as well as participants and if your downtown that day you will be a spectator (As it is taking over the town).

I have been trying to understand the route of the race and it looks like they are scheduled to reopen Broadway by 9:15 A.M.
Getting downtown early in the day may be a bit tough to navigate though...

Hope this is helpful to someone out there.

This is the ST. JUDE etc etc marathon. It is huge. Why JB picked that day is beyond me. People book for that race a year in advance. I have a FREE place to stay, live 3 hrs from there and still can't go (as of yet.) We accidentally got duplicate tickets (SIL bought too) so we have $433 hanging fire for Frisco and now zero fun money for Nashville. If you have ever tailgated anywhere for a JB concert, Nashville is a huge let down. The venue is downtown, the area is always crawling with tourists and there are bars and country music and cowboy boots galore. It is not parrothead territory. Margaritaville is ok, but small compared to some others we've been to. Unless we sell these tickets, we'll see you in Frisco.

This may be a stupid question, but that's never stopped me before. Is Nashville eastern time or central time? I want to make sure I'm at the computer at the right time Friday morning.
