Re: 2014 NFL Season
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!
I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

Generally I agree but have a couple of differences. Will post later on today.CaptainP wrote:OK, when I do my annual baseball picks, I write a paragraph or so about every team.
I won't do that here. I will give my predictions, and no more than 10 words explaining the picks.
NFC East
Philadelphia Eagles. Offensive fire-power in a weak division.
Dallas Cowboys. Worst defense in league leads them back to 8-8
New York Giants. Eli will be better, it won't be enough.
Washington Redskins. The decade of mediocre continues.
NFC North
Green Bay Packers. Super Bowl contender.
Chicago Bears. Bad defense, but Cutler has weapons. But he's still Cutler.
Detroit Lions. Destined to blow it, even if they are good.
Minnesota Vikings. Peterson is getting old. Rest of team not very good.
NFC South
New Orleans Saints. Will just outscore teams.
Carolina Panthers. Very good defense, Cam will struggle with new receivers.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Lovie gives a spark, but not enough.
Atlanta Falcons. No running game.
NFC West
Arizona Cardinals. Surprise!!!
Seattle Seahawks. Last decade, no defending champ has won a playoff game.
San Francisco 49ers. Harbaugh wears out his welcome.
St. Louis Rams. Sadly, Sam Bradford was their great hope. Good defense, though.
AFC East
New England Patriots. Brady shows age, but the division is terrible.
Buffalo Bills. Could be a surprise team this year.
Miami Dolphins. Nothing on their roster excites me.
New York Jets. I have no idea what they are doing.
AFC North
Cincinnati Bengals. I really like the team. Dalton underrated.
Pittsburgh Steelers. Not great, but a competitive team.
Baltimore Ravens. Comments, and prediction, interchangeable with Steelers.
Cleveland Browns. Remember the excitement of draft day?
AFC South
Indianapolis Colts. The class of a weak division. I like Luck.
Houston Texans. Despite last season, they're just a QB away from contending.
Tennessee Titans. Perpetually mediocre.
Jacksonville Jaguars. Improving but still a bad team.
AFC West
Denver Broncos. Manning comes back to Earth, but they're still very good.
San Diego Chargers. A lot to like here.
Kansas City Chiefs. Tougher schedule hurts.
Oakland Raiders. Just bad.
Without going into all levels of playoffs, I will put the Super Bowl as:
Green Bay Packers vs. Denver Broncos

A couple things to remember, before getting too high on the Seahawks....Dutch Harbor PH wrote:

1. After winning the Super Bowl, the Packers started 14-0, winning by an average of about 24 points. They did not win a playoff game.
2. In fact, no defending champ in a decade has won a playoff game. Not since...
3. In 2003, the Patriots lost 31-0 in their opener. Won the Super Bowl.
Yes, the Seahawks look crazy good right now. But it's way too early...
And the Packers had the distinct disadvantage of facing the Seahawks in the one game that they're likely to have a healthy Harvin. His history suggests an injury by week 2.

I think the Steelers and Browns switched uniforms at halftime. Steelers were up 27-3, now at the beginning of the 4th quarter it's 27-20. Can the Steelers snatch defeat from the jaws of victory? Stay tuned

The Jests are in first place!!
And I forgot to make my annual prediction before the season started. The Dallas Cowboys will never win anything as long as Tony Romo is the quarterback.

WHAT THE F*CK IS GOING ON WITH THE NFL?
Really? Adrian Peterson, really? I want Ray Rice to come out of his little b*tch hiding and punch your pathetic face in. Then I want you both to jump in front of on coming traffic but not before you donate 100% of your fortunes to child abuse and spousal abuse charities. I f*cking hate this sh*t. Worthless losers.

Re: 2014 NFL Season
Steelers run defense is the worst I've seen in years. Captain P's prediction of a second place finish in the AFC North could be too generous if the defense can't stop the run.lime rickie wrote:Oof, that was ugly. But congrats. Broncos were so flat in the first half. Refs didn't help our cause much. Better score than the Super Bowl, tho.SeattleParrotHead wrote:Whew!
