Chicago 2015

Post by BoatBeachBarBallad50 »

It's early, but any chance he makes his triumphant return to Toyota Park this year?

And is there any chance the tour dates get announced prior to April?

Who else is ready for this summer's edition of the Jimmy show?

It will be either Toyata Park or Tinley Park most likely, unless he decides to give Northerly Island another shot god forbid

Jimmy doesn't want to go back to Toyota Park due to the power outage that occured there a few years ago, and the fans want absolutely nothing to to with Northerly Island (rightfully so).
Only logical choice is Tinley Park, thankfully.

I know why he didn't go right back to Toyota, but I still don't understand holding the grudge on the issue for this long. The power went out, yet everything else that has happened @ Toyota Park since then has probably gone off w/o a hitch. Toyota is simply a better venue all around - from tailgating to the show. Why does everyone just accept Tinley as the place to be? It's awful.

Tinley Park has been Jimmy's venue of choice in Chicago since the early 1990's where as he has done only 6 shows at Toyota Park

LN also owns the venue on Northerly Island. So, at this point it could be either place.

I do believe hearing that Jimmy's people signed a multi year deal with the crummy shed in Tinley Park.

They already have 7 concerts lined up for this summer and 4 of them are on a Saturday.

We can cross these dates off the rumor list:

5/30 (Though he would not have been there in May anyway)

7/11

7/25

8/1

I think we can all continue to complain about Tinley, but chances are it will be there. If it is not there it will be at Northerly. I can live with most any venue so long as he continues to put on a show each year. I was getting excited for a 2015 Chicago show in November, but now that we move closer, it is coming closer to a reality. Just be nice to know before April. Then the plans can really start!!! Most likely same venue (Tinley) and same weekend in June. Can't wait!!!

Can't see him really playing anything else other than Tinley. Though if he was SMART. He would look into the Chicagoland Speedway. Can get 70,000 in just the seats ALONE. And more room than whatever god you worship needs for tailgating/camping.

If history dictates he will play June 27th. He's played the last Saturday in June the last 3 years.
(2 in Tinley Park, and 1 in Northerly Island)

That works for me.... Then the Grateful Dead 50th Anniversary at Soldier Field the next weekend.

The 27th is what I am banking on. He usually does the Indy show the Thursday before, so we are hoping for a possible dual show experience this year. Easy drive and great fun! Fins Up!!!

The problem with that theory is , Jimmy doesn't allow his Musician's to play during a leg of the tour. Unless the 18th ends a leg of the tour.

Seen Mac plenty of times the night before a Chicago show. So I think they can still play, though some may choose not to.
