Tryin' to Reason with the Winter Season
parody lyrics T. Ponton
a parody of "Tryin' to Reason with the Hurricane Season"( Jimmy Buffett)
Squalls out on the radar screen
Big storm's comin soon
Passed out in my recliner
God I slept to way past noon
Woke up and tried to focus
Remote down by my side
Flipped on to the weather channel
Saw the forecast and almost cried
And now I must confess that I hate this mess
I can only shovel for so long
Call it cabin fever
Watchin' "Leave It to Beaver"
But it makes me laugh and then I can go on
Somethin' about this Sunday
It's a most peculiar grey
Strollin' to the grocery store
That's just one block away
Feelin' fine then I got in line
I hoped that it wouldn't take long
But after I got my toilet paper
Soon found out that I was wrong
And now I must confess that I get depressed
Snow blowers been broken for so long
Ain't no silver lining
Think I'm in "The Shining"
But then I have to laugh before I can go on
Well the wind is blowin' harder now
30 miles or thereabouts
There's black ice and snow drifts
And I'm blinded by whiteouts
It's time to close the curtains
I'm glad to be inside
Think I'll drink a margarita
And bolt the doors and hide
And now I must confess -- I wish I was in Key West
I can't take this weather very long
Don't want the flu
So I'll drink a brew
And it cleans me out then I can go on
Yes it cleans me out and then I can go on

Heheee !!.. i was reading back.. i love this !!!.. i guess being in Ny helps.
I hope that all the greedy bastards in the world
Come back as lobsters.
You know that life at the bottom of the food chain
Suits them well.
I think that all of the evil people of the world
Come back as horseflies,
They want one last bite before they're sent to hell.

Very nice. Winter just doesn't want to let up this year down on LI. Can't believe its Easter and I haven't played any golf yet b/c the snow just hasn't melted yet.
Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

Re: Tryin' to Reason with the Winter Season
Lord help me, I am not now, nor will I ever be a fan of winter.
"But it's so much fun to play in!" You say.
Yeah, wake me when it's summertime and the ice and freezing cold has melted.
