Good afternoon.
Hooters sponsors Chase Elliott the NASCAR driver. They have a deal where if he finishes in the top 10, you get a free order of fried pickles and if he wins you buy 10 wings and get 10 free. He won yesterday so I can go to Hooters today and get 20 wings for the price of 10. I know I can eat 20 wings, I'm not so sure I should.

Afternoon BNers
It is a gloomy day with a few showers. A perfect day to stay inside to watch the Astros.
Actually, a perfect day for the 'Stros to clinch.

Here kevin and I sit in the lot of a center city tire and auto center waiting for AAA to tow our Pilot to the local Honda dealer.
You see, on Saturday with 4 out of state BNers we were strolling around Lancaster city. When we attempted to return to Ringville the entire dash of the pilot lit up like a Christmas tree. Couldn’t get above 10mph so we crawled it 2 blocks to a service cente
2 days and lots of phone calls turns into needing a new transmission on this 2005 vehicle with 96,000 miles.
Anyone got $4900 they wouldn’t mind gifting to us
Up side is Kevin’s first time use of his Uber app worked great.

Re: VERY late start MONDAY @ the MSC
The Rabz family have just had their share of automotive disruptions too.
The weekend before last we headed off for a camping/hunting/drinking/assorted red-neckery weekend. Had a blast. Headed home on the Sunday afternoon. As we, literally, pulled up on the driveway the 4WD ute (For our US phriends a ute is a pick up), decided to empty the contents of the power steering all over said driveway.
Come Monday morning, Mrs Rabz jumps in her chariot to head off to the train station and is overwhelmed by the smell of petrol and decides on a change of destination - the mechanic's lair. Meanwhile, I was waving farewell to the ute as it rode away on the back of a tow truck towards the mechanic.
This left the Rabz's vehicle-less!!!!
In a stroke of fortune, both repairs were done quite quickly and under warranty.

Yikes on everyone having vehicle troubles. I sure hope it isn't contagious.

And we were told that our truck (admittedly a jalopy) needs $900. worth of radiator repair. Not happening. Time for another vehicle. That's three.
I'm just tryin to get by, being quiet and shy, in a world full of pushin and shove

Already a hurricane, the boat is as ready as it's gonna get and my patio has been cleared. I hate it for those east of Pensacola but I hope it doesn't track further west. We're monitoring it closely

Re: VERY late start MONDAY @ the MSC
Yea just read that it was upgraded. May hit Jersey Thursday as a tropical storm. Depends on front in Midwest.

Re: VERY late start MONDAY @ the MSC
Ahoy! My friend and I pulled out at 5AM for a sixty mile drive to fish for steelhead. He got 2 good ones and lost a big one. I caught one small one and took a nap. It was 80 degrees here.
Sorry for the vehicle issues guys, but it's the boat I'm thinking about.
Good luck, Steve.

If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

The weather guy here said Hurricane Michael, or whatever's left of it, will probably get here by Thursday. We're expected to get 2-4 inches of rain, instead of the 2 or more feet Florence gave us last month.

$4900 would make a good down payment on a new car, if you can do monthly payments again. Just gotta figure out what's best for you.

Gloomy day here, too. Showers, and some lite snow in the mountain areas. Temps in the low 40's.
