2022 NFL
For those who follow, how is your team season shaping up?
NYG fan here. 2022 pre-season looked better than the entire 2021 season.

Re: 2022 NFL
Broncos have been 'my' team since 1976, but haven't watched much of the NFL in the last 5+ years due to overall stupidity - players, owners, coaches, refs, etc. I hope that the Broncos have a good year, with the addition of Russell Wilson.

Dolphins since '71. We look great on paper. But, you have to play the games. And, Buffalo is in the Division and one of my SB picks. No clue in the NFC. I see it being GB, TB, Rams. But, there always seems to be a sleeper.

Well at least the Lions are getting facetime on the NFL Hard Knocks program.
Just hoping in my lifetime the Lions can at least MAKE a Super Bowl let alone win one.

Re: 2022 NFL
My team — literally, and I have a share of stock to prove it — is Green Bay. We always have high hopes — after all, there's a reason the Super Bowl trophy is named after one of our former head coaches, and never count ourselves out of a game until the final whistle blows or a season until it becomes a mathematical impossibility.
And the fans, win or lose, are always behind them. Name me one other team with an open stadium where the common, ordinary fan will respond to the call and show up after a snowfall with a shovel to help clear the seating area so the game can go on.
And besides, no matter what the weather, we tailgate harder than most teams play!!

Re: 2022 NFL
The Cleveland Browns cut QB Josh Rosen today. He was the 10th player picked in the 2018 NFL draft and said nine mistakes were made before he was picked. He's played a total of 24 games with 12 touchdown passes and 21 interceptions. Cleveland is the 6th team that's released him. I wonder if he still thinks the 9 teams that didn't draft him all made mistakes.

Re: 2022 NFL
On Sunday, at their home opener for the NFL season, the Washington Commanders — formerly the Washington Redskins, for those of you who haven't been keeping track of all the name changes in sports lately — resumed their position as the laughing stock of pro football when coffee cups/mugs in support of the team went on sale from an official team truck located outside their home at FedExField (originally Jack Cooke Stadium), located in Summerfield, Maryland, located about 5 miles east of Washington DC.
The mugs showed a large 'W' emblazoned over an outline map of Washington. There was just ONE teensy, weensy little problem...
The outline map was that of the STATE of Washington. Ooops!!
The mugs were quickly removed from sale, and I suspect there is at least one person in the marketing department who is busy buffing up his/her resumé, if they haven't done so already.

I wonder if there'll be some mugs on sale around here?Bicycle Bill wrote: On Sunday, at their home opener for the NFL season, the Washington Commanders — formerly the Washington Redskins, for those of you who haven't been keeping track of all the name changes in sports lately — resumed their position as the laughing stock of pro football when coffee cups/mugs in support of the team went on sale from an official team truck located outside their home at FedExField (originally Jack Cooke Stadium), located in Summerfield, Maryland, located about 5 miles east of Washington DC.

Re: 2022 NFL
The Giants game was on TV down here, they played the Carolina Panthers and they're my "local" team for network TV purposes. The Giants didn't play a very good game but they were less bad than the Panthers. They made just enough plays to win. And I don't think Baker Mayfield is the long term solution for the Panthers at QB.

They weren’t on up here. The first win was ugly, too. Don’t care, it’s been so long since even these slivers of hope. savoring it in advance of the inevitable MNF letdown.LIPH wrote: ↑September 18, 2022 6:33 pm The Giants game was on TV down here, they played the Carolina Panthers and they're my "local" team for network TV purposes. Re: 2022 NFL
The Jets were down by 13 with 2 minutes to go. According to the article on ESPN.com, teams had lost 2,229 consecutive games when trailing by 13 or more points in the last 2 minutes. The Jets beat the Browns today. The last team with a comeback like that was the Bears, also against the Browns. I'm not sure exactly when the other game was because one part of the article says it was in 2001 but later it says it was during the 2002 season.lime rickie wrote: ↑September 18, 2022 7:49 pmThey weren’t on up here.
