Still in shock SUNDAY @ the MSC
Hello everyone. It’s good to see so many former customers of the MSC stopping in (although for such a sad sad sad reason)
Go out there and find something special that reminds you of someone special. And savor every memory

Re: Still in shock SUNDAY @ the MSC
My heart feels so heavy. Like many others I've been crying since I heard the news and I feel a little silly reacting like this over a man who I never even met in person
But the man, the poet, the troubadour, the entertainer touched my soul more deeply than I ever realized.
Thanks Linda and Penny and phjim and all the other mods who keep this place up and running for all of us.

Good morning Linda and Tammy.
Feeling the same here.
My son called me yesterday and said, "I'm sorry your hero died". I said, "No, that was your Grandfather. Jimmy was just my 'idol'.
It's hard to explain his impact on me to others.
For those not on FB, I posted something there that I'll copy here later.

Don't feel silly Tammy. I have seen Buffett in concert since 1990 except 98 and 2022. Without Buffett and this forum I never would have met my wife nor the great folks here. He was part of our lives. Sunday morning CBS will have a segment on JB. Probably with footage from his past appearances on that show.

Reading the wonderful tributes by the famous and the fans.
I hope Jimmy knew what he meant to so many.
I can't comprehend the surreal reality that we are in a world without Jimmy.
Rest in Paradise, Jimmy.

Good afternoon. Just got back from having lunch with Linda and Kevin. We went to Margaritaville and I had a margarita (I couldn't force myself to order a Blandshark) but I didn't have a cheeseburger in paradise.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

Re: Still in shock SUNDAY @ the MSC
I'm thankful for all the people I've met and the friends I've made through Jimmy Buffet and this website.
I'm glad I was able to share the experience with my brothers and other members of my family.
Yesterday I got together with my brother Frank, and later we were joined by our brother Chris.
We sat outside and toasted Jimmy with a bottle of Rum Jumbie. The bottle didn't last long.
That evening I had margaritas with my stepdaughter.
Sail on, Jimmy.

Who's got the rum?

Hi CHGN…been a while, hope you’re good, except the obvious. Just thought I’d fly by for a tear with old friends.

Re: Still in shock SUNDAY @ the MSC
Afternoon BNers
Watching the qualifying at the US Nationals and they occasionally play music during the down times. Yes, they are playing Buffett.
I have found that it is the stories that are getting to me. The "I met my wife/husband stories", The "tailgating" stories, etc.
I have been thinking....I flew to CO to a wedding of people I didn't know. And a tailgate broke out.
Jenny and I planned to fly to FL and went to someone's house that didn't know we were coming. I met a friend from Australia and she stayed at our house! So many memories because of JB.

Yesterday at 5:00 est I joined the ranks to toast Jimmy. Because of health reasons I stopped drinking years ago, but yesterday was an exception. My hubby and I both had a shot of rum to honor a man that has had a huge impact on our outlook on life. We will always have his art, but the world is a bit dimmer without him here.
