Animal Crackers THURSDAY @ the MSC
Good Morning Everyone!
Today is NATIONAL ANIMAL CRACKERS DAY. I haven't had any of these since our youngest Grandson Austin (who is now 10) stopped eating them.
National Animal Crackers Day on April 18th each year celebrates a childhood favorite. A box of these sweet animal-shaped crackers not only provided a delicious snack, but they also offered a little entertainment, too!
The celebration brings us back to our childhood memories and the many boxes of Animal Crackers we shared with our friends. Animal Crackers refer to a type of small cookie baked in the shape of circus or zoo animals, such as a lion, tiger, bear or elephant. The most common variety is light-colored and slightly sweet. However, makers also offer chocolate and frosted varieties, too. Even though animal crackers are made with layered dough, much like crackers, they are sweet like cookies.
HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY !

Re: Animal Crackers THURSDAY @ the MSC
Good Morning Linda....BN'ers to come.
Wasn't really a fan of the animal crackers back when I was a kid. Too many other greater options.
A little lighter load now that April 15 has passed.
Definitely a fan of the social outlet of BN but sure is a bummer not to be able to come in & get the skinny on the upcoming tour for Jimmy & the full CRB (thanks for that comment captain obvious).
In the semi spirit of "summer tours" think I'll start a WHO'S GOING to what concerts this summer thread. We've got a few on the docket so far, but not as much as other year. Drop in that thread & share if you get a chance & are so inclined.
Enjoy your 18th day of April everyone!

Good morning. I haven't had animal crackers in years.
Checkout time is 11:00 and the airport shuttle is picking me up at 6:00. I think I'll wait until close to 11:00 to check out, then check my bag here at the hotel, have an early lunch and see what I can do to kill time in Las Vegas.

Good morning Linda, Ken, Deb, and Larry!
I love animal crackers, it's been a few years since I had some, tho.
Glad that 4-15 deadline is behind you again, Ken!
Larry - I looked yesterday and didn't see any special events today at Blake Shelton's place. Hope you can stop by. And hope your flight is uneventful tonight!
E is now in Texas - started in Arkansas, then Mississippi, then Louisiana, and ending in TX. He's in Mineola, and will fly out of Dallas tomorrow. Can't wait till he's home!

Re: Animal Crackers THURSDAY @ the MSC
When I walked by yesterday and saw that it was closed for the grand opening celebration, they had a sign outside saying to come back and see them tomorrow starting at 11:00. Since tomorrow is now today, maybe I'll make that my first stop before it gets too crowded.SMLCHNG wrote: ↑April 18, 2024 11:37 am Larry - I looked yesterday and didn't see any special events today at Blake Shelton's place. There's a Mineola on Long Island, it's less than 10 miles from Valley Stream where I grew up.

Re: Animal Crackers THURSDAY @ the MSC
Good morning, BN friends.
Animal crackers were a car road trip staple back in the day. Bite off the legs, eat the bodies, and save the heads for last, of course. They make great dessert pie crusts, too!
Gorgeous sunny spring day in Vacationland. On a roll this morning with errands and chores. Later we’ll head out for lunch somewhere.
Have a phabulous day, y’all!

Blake Shelton's new place isn't getting any of my money on this trip. I got there before it opened and there were well over 100 people in line waiting to get in. It's hot today, I wasn't standing on that line. I went back to the south end of the Strip and went to Nine Fine Irishmen in New York New York.

This is actually a new recipe I'm trying it for the first time today. Depending on the verdict...I'll be in touch. (If I can get enough bubble wrap to make sure that you don't get just crumbs)

It's been years since I've had any animal crackers (my youngest will be 35 next month) so I would say it's been ~30 years) but I remember liking them!LIPH wrote: ↑April 18, 2024 12:03 pmWhen I walked by yesterday and saw that it was closed for the grand opening celebration, they had a sign outside saying to come back and see them tomorrow starting at 11:00. Like Larry I was surprised by the Mineloa thing... I know some names occur in several states but I never heard of that being one of them! It was our last home on LI, we bought a co-op there after we left our first apartment, which was in, wait for it, Valley Stream.

I'm having an Icelandic beer. It's the second one I've had from the same brewer and I've had both of them in Las Vegas. Never seen them in any of my other travels.

I ate the crackers purchased at the corner grocery store. I think the box was the big seller.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.
