1st of 2 FRIDAY the 13th @ the MSC

Post by Saltx3 »

Good Morning Everyone!

I didn't realize that a month has a Friday the 13th ONLY if the month begins on a Sunday (I never was good at trivia). This year has 2 -- next one in December.

This will be a great day to stay home -- I've got a bad cold and the weather seems to be crappy.

What do you have going on today?

Good Morning Gang, & sorry to hear you're down for the count Linda.

We here in Michigan are in the midst of OUTSTANDING weather for this region. No rain, Mostly sunny skies (some haze from Canadian fires) and 10 degrees above normal temps (Mid 80's average).

Going tonight to get some Southern Fried Country Rock including The Outlaws, Lynyrd Skynyrd & ZZ Top. Granted it's far from the Original Skynyrd & ZZ is missing their original bassist, but plenty of great songs to be played tonight.

Enjoy your Friday the 13th everyone!

Good morning Linda and Ken.

With the lousy weather, it's supposed to rain on and off all weekend, today would be a good day to do laundry but I just did it Wednesday so not enough for a full load. Maybe I'll get a haircut, I'm a little shaggy. Or I can do some Internet surfing looking at TVs, the hockey season is getting close.

We were up and at em later than we wanted to be. But we're making great time and we're only about 5.5 hours from our overnight stop in Brattleboro Vt. Happy Friday

We have a lot of ponds here to help with storm drainage. I went to get a haircut and there's a pond probably less than 100 yards away. There was an ambulance, 3 fire department vehicles, 2 police cars and a flatbed truck at the edge of the pond. As I was getting out of my car I saw they were pulling a car out of the pond. Nobody seemed to be moving with any sense of urgency so I guess there wasn't anyone in the car.

Afternoon all BNers!
I, for one, embrace Friday the 13th! :D
Thirteen has always been my lucky number, and I LOVE black cats, [smilie=meow.gif] so it is a day made to my liking! :) Too bad there are only 2 this year. :(
I've been out and about enjoying a lovely day... sunny, clear 70s and dry!! But I have to say that seeing a few trees start to turn already is a bit surprising! That is usually October here... :-?

Penny - glad E got home OK yesterday and thanks for that interesting link you posted. There were many products in there that I have never seen in the stores!

Linda - hope you feel better soon... This is such a beautiful time of year so being stuck sick inside is not fun!

Larry - people drive like idiots everywhere... but all those ponds catch them in the act! Hope no one was hurt.

we have 4 ponds in our community....probably only 1 that a car could get into.....and even then it would have to go off-roading, over a huge drainage ditch, then a sidewalk, then some grass surround. But, at this point in my life I just say "anything is possible".

Checked in to the hotel in Vermont, we booked it for the trip back but we will definitely be cancelling it and looking for a new place to stay. We read reviews and it has an 8.2 out of 10 stars and no vacancy on the sign but the grout in the shower is moldy and the bed has a valley in the middle. We're only here a few hours so we will grin and bear it for one night.
Can't wait to get to our final destination tomorrow! And Sunday is our 46th Anniversary.

Good late evening all. SO tired after a pretty craptastic day at work, after 4.5 hours of sleep last night. Unit Secretary had a migraine (always conveniently on a Friday or Monday) so I was stuck at the front desk most of the day. The computer at that station had lost internet connection, so I had to go back to my desk to check emails, and print patient menus for Sat/Sun/Mon. Then I got back to the front desk with NOTHING I could do without a computer.

E and I went out for Mexican food/BIG margaritas after work. He worked from home today cause he was so tired from late night travel yesterday.

Hope you had a good night, Ken! (It was 7 years ago today that we met you and Lynn) :D

Ohhhhh, ick and I'm sorry, Tammy!! Hope you can find something better for the trip back!!

So the Rockies and Cubs are playing. Always tugs at my heart. I grew up a die hard Cubs fan with my family. And the Rockies pretty much s***. ;) But the Rockies are winning, for now.. ;) I remember the first year of the Rockies, we went to a game and I made everyone t-shirts that said "Rubbies/Cockies". :D

I'm exhausted. E has fallen asleep on the couch. I'm about there. We're doing our usual shopping tomorrow, watching OSU Football, and then heading to our favorite brewery for Oktoberfest. :D

G'night all.

Last year for a trip down here to Myrtle Beach we decided to finally jump into the Air BnB pool. We have now done 3 overnights (2 different times at the same place in Roanoke VA, and one on our trip to the Adirondacks). Our daughter & SIL have used AirBnb for all of their travels (even 10-day wedding trip to UK). We just kept holding out but have not had any issues and will definitely continue to use them.

Well then, Happy Sunday Anniversary! For 3 days SoulMate I are tied with you... out 47th is on Wednesday!

Our Daughter & SIL (and his parents) use Air B& B a lot too! We have only dabbled in it once. It was a place down the street from them, so our daughter knew the owner. :D
