TUESDAY @ THE MSC
Good mid-morning all!
It's not raining
Got up early for an 8:30 visit at a local charity program (Helping Hands) to see about volunteering. It is an amazing program with a huge food bank, as well as providing sources to the homeless, those in tight spots, etc. But, it turns out there is another "brach" closer (my error when I searched the program) so I will probably visit the closer vicinity one another time. It is one of several charities that the Coast of Carolina PH sponsors.

Re: TUESDAY @ THE MSC
"TUESDAY @ THE MSC".... is that all? Not happy "something or other" day? Just "Tuesday @ the MSC"?
You have a lot going on, I guess we should let you off the hook.
HAPPY NATIONAL DAY OF FORGIVENESS!
Also National Apple Dumpling Day.

Re: TUESDAY @ THE MSC
Good afternoon. It's been a week and a day since my dog-bight episode. I appear to be healing
and the doctor found no signs of infection. The owner of the dogs, whom I have known since he
was a kid, has not reached out to ask how I'm doing or apologized or anything.
Here's the kicker, he still has the dogs at home! You'd think after the one dog has bit 5 people now
that mutt would be history. Guess I just have to let the legal system run it's course.
Okay, done venting.

Good morning/Afternoon!
You're a tough crowd, Mr. SPH. Now go make us some Apple Dumplings!!!
Good luck with your volunteer searching, Linda!
Glad you're healing up, John! I don't get how those dogs can still be there, either!
Busy morning here. Work is work.
As I was leaving home this morning, one of the huge electrical boxes that I walk by was making some pretty terrible noises. I stood there for a minute listening to it. Then I looked up at the building and power was flickering. About 3 minutes later, the power was out. E texted me the same thing, just as it happened. It was still dark as I was leaving, but when he left about 45 minutes later, he could see that the whole box was moved from it's cement pad. As he was backing out of the parking space, the electric company's truck was on site. Yesterday was our lawn maintenance day, so I'm wondering if one of their lawn mowers ran into it. Power is supposed to be back on between 1:00-3:00 today. I hope. At least it's not a real hot day.

Re: TUESDAY @ THE MSC
I got my annual flu shot and a COVID booster yesterday. Last year I got a shot in each arm so I would know which shot I was getting a reaction to and I ended up with two sore arms, so this year I got them both in my right arm (I'm left handed.) My arm is just a little sore (so far....)
The documentation they gave me includes pronunciation guides for the shots:
in floo EN za VYE rus vak SEEN and KO vid nine teen vak SEEN

If I heard a box making "terrible noises" the last thing I would do would be to stand there and listen! You are braver than I am. I'd get the hell out of there and call the power company from somewhere safe to report it!
I hope all is well by the time you return this evening. I hate power outages because we also lose our water.

I hate them, too.. Now they're saying 7-9:00 pm. If we lose our foods, I'm gonna be SO angry. E just said we'll stay at a nearby Hampton Inn if we have to.Caribbean Soul wrote: ↑September 17, 2024 5:11 pm Good grief!! Never a dull moment there it seems!

Hope your power comes back before your fridge/freezer gets too warm. Most can hold food safely for about a day IF they are not opened!

Hi there! I am done under the house, finally.
You may consider suing, John.
Penny, good luck on the power.

Today was a lazy day for a trip to Schoodic Point. It was breathtaking and definitely did not disappoint! Lunch in Winter Harbor and
then some shopping. An early afternoon at the cottage and just enjoying being here

We did NOT open anything. No power until sometime tomorrow, we HOPE. We just saw 2 of our neighbors that we park next to, and have never known their names.Caribbean Soul wrote: ↑September 17, 2024 5:53 pmHope your power comes back before your fridge/freezer gets too warm. Re: TUESDAY @ THE MSC
Soooo, we came home, packed as fast as I ever have, and we're at a Hilton about 10 minutes from home for the night. If they can't find the underground wire that is broken (under our building) to repair, they're bringing in a generator to power the building. I'm scared at how much food we may lose. Which is supposed to be submitted to our Renters Insurance. They'll deduct our hotel stay for the night, but who's gonna pay for our deductible for what we submit?
Exhausted. Tho the folks at this hotel have been amazing.
G'night.
