Good morning Penny and Deb. I have to venture outside in a little while, I ran out of Girl Scout cookies. Maybe I'll buy 2 boxes of thin mints instead of 1 this time.
I knew I forgot something. There was a hockey game on TV yesterday afternoon, the Islanders played Nashville. I finally saw a goalie score a goal. The Islanders were winning with about a minute left in the game and Nashville pulled their goalie to get an extra skater on the ice and try to score a goal. The Islanders goalie made a save and the rebound went to a Nashville player. He tried to pass the puck to a teammate, missed him and the puck went the length of the ice into the empty net for a goal. The rule is if a player puts the puck in his own net the last player from the other team to touch the puck gets credit for the goal. The goalie was the last islander to touch the puck so even though he didn't shoot it into the net he gets the goal. It's the third goal by a goalie this season, the first time there's been more than one.
Good afternoon folks. We had a fantastic weekend visit with our PA friends. It was 74 yesterday so we visited both state park beaches and then went to the “Marsh Walk” and had a nice lunch on an outside deck.
Today as we were leaving church we had ashes dropping on the car. There are 1200 acres of wooded land that have burned so far. That area is about 15 miles from us. We can smell the smoke. Folks are evacuating. We’re keeping a close watch on the news.

So, as of right now... Islanders goalies have the first and last spots on that goalie-goals list!
I was actually at the game back when Billy Smith got credit for an own-goal by a Colorado Rockie player. I only found out it was the first one ever when I saw the news coverage in the paper the next day! They did not make a big deal of it at the Coliseum.
It happened in their first cup-winning season - a harbinger of great things.

Looks perfect -- especially with what looks to be a French press coffee ??
The camper trailer is very good, we need to work out how best to use it for us - where to put things, how to lay out the awning area, what awning walls we need etc. That is part of the adventure of a new trailer!
Sadly, it is French Press (or Plunger Coffee as it is called here).
We are proudly coffee snobs, who have been known to import our own beans from places like Vanuatu. So even with good beans, French Press is but a close second to a properly made espresso based coffee! However the other option was instant coffee and that, is not going to happen!
