Windy Wednesday @ The MSC

Post by LIPH »

Good morning. We could have wind up to 50 mph today and there's a tornado watch. It's also supposed to rain, which might help with the fires, but the wind won't help. They won't be able to get those giant helicopters in the air dropping water on the fires

Good morning, Larry. This storm is HUGE! We had a half inch of rain overnight, storms this PM changing to snow tomorrow.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Aloha, peeps.

Grey, windy, and drizzly in Vacationland, too. All the rain is melting the ice, so that’s nice.

It is grey and overcast here... it is supposed to rain later... it will undoubtedly start right about the time we head out to dinner with friends!

Penny - I hope they get your credentials fixed so you can help with those timecards. It shocks me that HR shut you out of the system so fast! I've never seen a department work that quickly before - unless it was termination for cause, which yours obviously was not!

Larry - I do hope the rain helps with those fires... but that the storm does NOT generate any twisters!

HR wasn't the culprit, it was my boss. She entered the wrong forms/information in.

Well, I went in to work today for a couple of hours. I had to re-do all my credentials for everything, including my passwords. I got it all back (including email) EXCEPT my access to the program that runs the time cards. I can see mine, and that's it. I opened an IT ticket, but that could take days - I just emailed my boss to have her call IT to ask why the Security Master shows I have access, but I don't. Just stupid.

But then I got to go out to lunch with E. :D It's been years since we've had lunch out on a weekday.

I decided today was a not do anything in the home today, besides the load of laundry I started this morning.

No tornadoes, the wind died down, the rain stopped early in the afternoon and the sun came out. When I went downstairs to get my mail it was almost nice out.

There was just a story on the 5:00 news about 3 people getting summonses for violating the statewide burn ban and a fourth one getting arrested. What part of "statewide burn ban" is hard for these dipsticks to understand?

That's great to hear about the weather!
And we're so well aware of burn bans here - and we get the same dipsticks who think it doesn't apply to them.

Hi all,

Apparently, summer isn't giving up without a fight. Today is a little cooler with a high 80's forecast, the next 10 days are for high 90's and more.

Still no significant rain.

Parts of the country are under cyclone warning, including the city of Brisbane. It will be the first time a cyclone has crossed the coast so far south in over 50 years.

I took advantage of the slightly cooler day to do some work on the camper trailer. Drilled the first holes in it to fit some awning attachments. Oh well, plenty more holes to drill!

While trying to put the trailer back in the shed, I couldn't work out why I was having so much trouble. After much mucking about, forward, back, a bit this way and bit that way, it finally went into its proper spot.

Once it was in place I realised that the shed sliding door wasn't fully open and the gap was 14 or 15 inches narrower than normal... Sometimes I feel like a galoot.

Good evening. I tried to open the MSC this morning but the page took too long to load for some reason and then I got distracted.

I had an early dr appt and then stopped at the library to volunteer a little.

Hospice called before I left and said mom’s urine output dropped significantly overnight which is a sign of end of life. The nurse said probably a day or maybe a few hours.

At 2:15 while I was at the library I got a call that mom had passed a few minutes before. We will miss her but we know she is now with Jesus.

My condolences to you and Kevin...
I had the same feeling when my own Mom passed, that she was finally at peace and back with my Dad... which made the void in my heart just a tiny bit smaller.
