Beautiful day here, perfect for the drive I am just about to embark on... heading down to New London CT to meet my daughter for dinner.
She was speaking at a conference held at Connecticut College today! I'm looking forward to the Mom/daughter time! We don't get much of that anymore these days...

Good afternoon. When I was out earlier I drove by a church that had a small electronic billboard out front. They're looking for singers in the choir and it said "InChoir Within".

Today is my last official day at work.

I dutifully turn up at the office yesterday and my access card still opened the main gates and entry doors (I was concerned it would have expired while I was away).

I got to my work area, which has special restrictions on who can enter, nope no dice. Oh well not really surprising. A few minutes later a colleague arrived and 'escorted' me into the area.

I logged into the system and started working through the 300 waiting emails (well mostly deleting emails but you get what I mean). While doing this I came across a series of threads where my boss was arguing with HR about my separation date. Before I went on long service leave we started the separation paperwork. Some brain-dead minion from HR didn't read the form and just actioned it.

Thus my access to the classified work area was stopped. They also suspended my classified material access.

This meant I couldn't be in the work area. So I handed back all my kit and went home!

Today I will do the 60 mile round trip to work and back, just so 'the team' can have a farewell coffee with me...

And they wonder why people are over it!

I am debating taking the day off. Woke up with a headache and ear pain from sinuses. Slept like crap, and pretty much and over work right now.

I really show go into work since I have one week before Spring Break, but not sure I can be professional all day. We’ll see how I feel when I check the closet for something professional to wear. I am sure the fact that it was 72 degrees yesterday and maybe 40 today with snow has a lot to do with my mood….

I really need to figure out winning lottery numbers or something……
