Ok that's a deal. You take satisfaction in an A-Rod error and I'll take an additional two game lead.
The 9th inning went as scripted, Ortiz hits a HR, ARod makes an error, the final score aside of course.

Two of the pitchers from game 1 yesterday were released last night, Jason Johnson and Rudy Seanez.

Yeah I heard that. Crazy when you start the first game and don't even make the first pitch of the night cap.

It's the Boston Massacre all over again, I suppose the comparisons will start to that infamous series of 1978 soon.

The difference between these two teams I think is really simple.

The Yankees have lost two of the their best players in Sheffield and Matsui and until pretty much the trading deadline were right with the Sox with Melky Cabrera and Bernie in the corner OF spots, exceeding all expectations. The Sox have lost Nixon and Varitek, and they've taken a huge hit, and are not the same team.

Oh, and that lead-off hitter the Yankees got is some player. 8)

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,

Tonight I just need my guitar

You don't have faith in Julian Tavaras and Craig Hansen :-?

Don't be surprised if Mark Loretta is traded for some pitching help soon, he already cleared waivers and several teams are looking for a 2nd baseman.

They tried trading him yesterday to Detroit for a pitcher(s). http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/r ... _on_trade/

I do. I believe one of those prospects hit a 3 run homer today. Another one got the win in the first game, and a third is batting .294 and playing a great left-field. So much for a depleted farm system 8)

without those 2 ....they still had a all-star team......and a lot more depth then a lot of teams......6 everday players are all-stars......so i have a hard time with they were sticking with the Red Sox......Other than Manny & Papi...who else was a all-star.......so this poor Yankee stuff doesn't fly!!

The winner of the AL east has not won the World Series this century. The Wildcard is where it's at :D
