Not just no. Not just hell no. But NO F**KIN' WAY!!!!!!! I don't need or want anything that badly. And if anyone I know does need or want something they can get it their own damn self. I don't do crowds very well (I know, pretty strange for someone who lives so close to and spends so much time in NYC) and I'm extremely lacking in the patience department. I won't go anywhere near a mall or a big box store the day after Thanksgiving.
Oh, and did I mention I live about 3 miles from the WalMart where the guy got killed in the stampede last year? I don't need to be around those animals.

So how do you-all put up with the crowds — who can be just as whacko as anything you'll see on Black Friday — at a Buffett show?

Re: Black Friday Anyone?
You bring up a good point, Bill. I actually have a tough time at Buffett shows, mainly entering/exiting the venue. I was in a situation in high school where I got trampled and that has had a lasting effect. Luckily most of my friends know this and they create a "BEG Buffer Zone" around me at shows so I don't freak out...and the rule is "don't let go of BEG!" when we're in a tight crowd situation.
I'm very grateful for their understanding because it I know it can be difficult to fathom how scary it can be. I feel safe with my BN friends...Black Friday would be a whole different ball game.
I'm actually a good person to have around in a crowd, because I guarantee you I will know the location of every possible exit around me.

Re: Black Friday Anyone?
No way will I shop on BF. I do not do well in crowds. Espeically when they get rude and pushy. Like mentioned earlier... There have been big sales going on for months now. If I miss those then I am sure I can find a great deal on line. About the closest I come to shopping on BF is watching the 11:00 news to see who got trampled in a senseless crowd with a mob mentality.
Having recently ended a short five year stint in part time retail I am so happy to say that I will not be working BF either.
To those of you stuck working in the middle of the mob that day my heart goes out to you and you have all of my respect. Good luck.

there are crowds and then there are CROWDS. Buffett people are usually happy. BF crowds are there to SHOP. Different crowds.Bicycle Bill wrote:krusin1 wrote:I'll gladly fork over a couple hundred extra bucks NOT to mess with the whacko crowd people.fabduo wrote:Will never do it again -I hate crowdsspringparrot wrote:Oh Hell NO!!!

Sitting with friends in a bar watching the crazies go at it would be the ONLY way I'd participate in Black Friday!ph4ever wrote:I'm thinking we should park our butts at the bar near the mall and just say we went.Brown Eyed Girl wrote:Well, in that case I would be going with you...because how could we not have fun?ph4ever wrote:Heyllllll no! Sure, I'll go shopping on Black Friday. Why not?
I'll be awake at 3:30 AM & head to Target to buy me a G.P.S. for my vehicles, then to LOWES for a pressure washer for the patio deck.
After that, it'll be Wal Mart, Kohls, Younkers, and anywhere else my money will take me.
(I already checked with HOOTERS, and they're not having any special deals, so I'll hold off until the following Monday before I go there).
