Back to powerball and Mega Millions?
I guess so...although I've been hearing rumors that you actually have to PLAY to win...what's that all aboot?
So that's why I haven't won yet!

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

And the firework celebration begin :-? - and my animals are going crazy......at least we don't have any fire danger with all the rain from Alberto.
And raccoons brought wine and the mice they brought cheese...

Sitting here trying not to cry. After a life time of routing for teams that never quite make it (Indians, Browns, Cavs)....my new hometown and new team let me enjoy the experience of watching them make it all the way.

It's silly....sports....but it isn't just about grown men playing games.....it's about esprit de corp.....something you have to grab where you can in modern life.

The Oilers made a great run...they didn't give up.....they certainly deserve respect even in their loss.

Congrats to Raleigh

Great win!!!
Thanks! I sort of knew it would go down to game seven....Oilers are too good to just roll over and give it to us.

Cam Ward is my hero! I only hope this is just the first coup for a great career for him.....and he grew up an Oiler's fan!

Now, I just have to figure out how to get out of work and head downtown for any celebration.......the CFO has season tickets and has made national TV as well as SI and MSN websites because his seats are just that damn good....but my boss is not a fan....I will have to finesse it tomorrow.

Not sure if I could get away with it....lol....they'll KNOW.....and 'hockey flu' doesn't yet have legit status down here....not with a northern boss, whose female and not a sport's fan!

However, I will have no problem laying it on the line and saying "I have take my kid downtown for the parade." They know I lived and died hockey all season. My cubicle is decorated in palm trees, beach chairs and hockey posters!!!

LOL......sometimes a reputation for forthright honesty can pay off!

You did more then try. You gave it all. I have been very impressed with the Oilers and the Oiler fans (not like the Sabers at ALL)......it's been a pleasure to see them around town, talk to them at the games...and even a few had written on the back of their signs supporting the Oiler's 'Congrats 'Canes' to show afterwards. That shows class and sportsmanship that should be congratulated as well as the hard playing of the team.

The Oilers will be back......no doubt about it.....and I look forward to future Stanley Cup games against them!

WOW WHAT A NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!

1st we had a rally to get back out local ECHL Greenville Grrrowl hockey team. At the rally we were informed that there is a 90% chance that we WILL have hockey next year :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

and 2nd
CONGRADULATIONS CAROLINA HURRICANES
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
What a game. And Edmonton played a series to show why they belonged in the Finals

If you have NEVER been or don't care about hockey, give it a shot. It might be a little confusing to understand the rules, but go with a fan or give it a few chances, You won't be sorry. And it's great family entertainment :D

Stanley Cup hockey.........don't get no better!

Cudos to both teams.....but it hurts so bad for the Oilers right now. Even though they were an 8 seed, when you reach the finals there is no consolation for a strong and gutty performance or earning respect from your opponents!

Thanks to young Cam Ward the Canes can hoist Lord Stanley's Cup proudly today!

Bettman has his head so far up Karmonos' ass, it's not even funny, what a slam to Hartford by saying how Karmanos had a dream that hockey would work in Carolina, the bastard didn't even have a place to drop the team when he pulled them out of Connecticut, it was 3 weeks before they even had a place to go.

This is true.....and a couple of local politicians can be added to that list!!.....Put a winner on the ice and Hartford would support it!!!.......just be competitive and Hartford would support it!!
