Meatball SATURDAY @ the MSC

Hello All!

Today is National Meatball Day......(Not Meathead day)....

On March 9th we recognize one of the great American food holidays, National Meatball Day.
It is not clear how this day got started, but who can resist the idea of celebrating National Meatball Day? There are many different ways to celebrate meatballs:
Spaghetti and meatballs
Swedish Meatballs
Meatball Sub
Meatball Pizza
Turkey Meatballs
Lamb Meatballs
Porcupine Meatballs (made with rice)
and the list goes on and on.
There is a restaurant in New York that has 54 different kinds of meatballs. Not only do meatballs allow for variety, but they move from appetizer to side dish to the main dish quite easily. Meatballs can be made the night before and put in the crockpot, or days before and kept in the freezer.

Morning, BN. My clock already changed the time. Ugh. I could have used another hour of sleep.

heya Sang & Debbie. Seems we go for days without any activities and then we have days that are jammed packed :o

Today is one of the latter -- I've got to visit "gym", both of us have hair appts, then I'm heading to a funeral for the husband of one of my "beach babe buddies". Joe left us much too early. Then as we head to dinner at the home of 2 Parrotheads, whose friendship began this very discussion board, we must drop off a grill for our son. At least I have our dinner dessert (apple crisp) in the oven.

Guess I better get out of here and attack this schedule !

Good morning ladies. Anne has turned some clocks ahead already. I have a 5O Clock Somewhere clock(All 5's) that is my primary time piece. She told me she changed it. Seconds later I looked at it and thought why was it so late in the day? :D

Morning BNers

Another no sun day but should be close to 80.
😀

Nothing planned outside the house. Need to finish gathering and packing.
Why is packing so difficult when the weather is iffy???

Laundry and dishes and out to dinner cause we have some gift cards to use.

That's about it. Off to forage for breakfast parts. :)

We lost a good friend, much to early too, and parrothead recently too. We went to almost every concert with him and his wife and even his other family members. THe service was simple. Barbecue, Jimmy’s music playing non stop and then the memory photo slide show. You think you know a guy after working together and hitting numerous concerts for over 20 years, but I did NOT know he wore Speedos in the Caribbean on vacation.

Being retired, the clock thing doesn't really bother me too much. Other than Dr appointments, I don't worry too much about what time it is.
The only time sensitivity I have is that I don't bother going anywhere during the morning and afternoon commute periods... no reason to sit in traffic jams anymore!

Today started sunny and will turn to rain and possibly snow later this afternoon and evening. Meeting a friend from high school and his wife for a wine and food event this afternoon. Looking forward to that. Weekends scream by these days.

I think I just found something to do, the Myrtle Beach Highland Games. The notice I saw online said it was the inaugural event. Maybe at this year's location, but this will be the 3rd Highland Games I've gone to and I missed last year's.

Well Sunday has dawned. Well apparently it did, it is hard to tell due to the pea-soup fog outside my window.

So much to do and so little motivation.

There is one task I will do, right now, no wait - I'll have a coffee first, then I'll do it...

I have a yearly planner calendar above my desk - I think I need to put all of our travel details on it, flight no.s, times, destinations and block out the days we are away. That might generate some motivation.

Only 47 days 5 hours and 10 minutes to take off, but who is counting?

I went to the Highland Games and I see now why they're calling it the inaugural event. It used to be called the Myrtle Beach Highland Games and it was a free event, you only had to pay for food, beverages and souvenirs. Now it's the Coastal Highland Games and there's a $10 admission fee. New location, new sponsors but pretty much the same event.

On my way out I stopped at the merch table to buy a souvenir t-shirt. I got to the front of the line, the person at the table asked if she could help me and the woman behind me told her what she wanted. I said "excuse me, isn't the first person on line supposed to be next?" I almost used my "I'm from New York, I'm used to people being rude" line but her husband was bigger than I am.

When I got there a band was just finishing its set, then a guy with a guitar came out and played for a while, then another band. I heard "Whiskey In The Jar" 3 times.

Nothing wrong with Whiskey in a Jar, but 3 times??? Might be overkill or everyone has a small set list.

Ahoy! We had a sunny ride to NY state for lunch and quick shopping. The nice day brought everyone out! I was going a half past a Walmart to a good grocery store and decided the traffic wasn't worth it. An approaching storm has made for a dreary afternoon. Since the clocks are already turned, it will be a short night.

Corona has a new beer, at least it's one I've never seen before. It's called Corona Familiar and it was in the make your own 6 pack section so I bought one. I do not plan on becoming familiar with it in the future.
