Happy "PI" day THURS @ the MSC

Post by Saltx3 »

Good Morning BN!

I never was good at math but I do know about PI :)... I don't plan on eating any pie.

3.14159265359…. need we go on? Celebrated on March 14 each (yes, that’s 3-14), National Pi Day not only commemorates a very special number, but also celebrates the birthday of the great scientist and mathematician Albert Einstein. Pi was first calculated by Archimedes of Syracuse (287–212 BC), one of the greatest mathematicians of the ancient world. National Pi Day has become a day to celebrate numbers and math, and celebrations are held across the country in honor of this very special number. These days, all of the numerical fun is sometimes accompanied by delicious food items such as pizza pie, fruit pie, and even pot pies! So please channel your inner math geek and get ready to calculate, eat, and celebrate everybody’s favorite never-ending number

It is my wife’s 34th birthday today and NJ is one step closer to legalizing that coral reefer. :D

I don’t know if people have kept up but there is gonna be a huge market for non alcoholic thc infused drinks. A company already makes thc infused margaritas and coconut rum. Not to mention IPA style beers!!!

No hangovers?! Count me in. Might be my new kind of boat drink!!!! 😎

The last time I used "pi" was when I was draining my stepdaughter's pool.
3.14 x radius squared x height gave me the cubic feet. Cubic feet x 7.48 gave me the gallons.
After 1 hour of draining I measured how much the level had dropped and converted that to "rate of flow".
This gave me an approximate time for when the pool would be empty. The only glitch in this is that the rate
of flow decreases with the amount of water so time is added.

Hey when you're retired you get bored.

And that is our yardwork math lesson for today. :pirate:

When I woke up this morning it was 27 degrees. It's 24 now. When I left home Monday it was 75.

PA is so very conservative and slow. Heck - we're still one of a very few states that hasn't started the Real ID process.....and all of our liquor stores are still owned by the state.

Good morning! :)

Wish I had some pie now. Specifically my Mom's pumpkin or apple. She made the best pies.

I'm still snowed in. The highway I take to work is closed closest to our home. I still set my alarm, and sent texts to my bosses that I ain't going anywhere. Hopefully I can get out of the parking space I'm kinda parked in later today or tomorrow. At least the snow has stopped, and barely any wind right now. E's got 4wd and is going to try and get out in a bit, and hope the highway opens soon. Best part is that we never lost electricity during all of those winds yesterday. :) DIA had a gust of 80 mph. :o Ours were about 50 mph.

I just got through security at the Boise Airport. There's a store here that has a t-shirt with a cartoon potato on the front. He's dressed as Darth Vader but he's Darth Tater from Spud Wars. WELCOME TO THE STARCH SIDE

Funny story from yesterday. Wayne picked me up at the hotel, we had breakfast and then he had a couple of errands to run. East coast guy that I am, I don't know this part of the country very well so I asked how far we were from Oregon, that's one of the few states I've never been to. Wayne said it was about an hour away. Next thing I know, we're on the highway headed west. We went to Ontario, OR, just over the border, stopped to have a beer, then went back to Boise. Now I've been to Oregon.

I landed in Salt Lake City and we're at gate D7. My connecting flight is at gate D3. Why can't that happen more often? [smilie=noeyedear-shrugging.gif]
