Still Wondering Why? Sunday @The MSC

Hi All,

It's all a bit grim over on this side of the planet.

My thoughts and phin powers are with the wonderful folk in Kiwiland.

Our press and media are swamped with wall to wall coverage - I am steadfastly refusing to give their ghoulish excess clicks, but I am just wondering WHY?

If other people want to worship their own particular sky fairy, then who cares? Me? I worship sunrises, sunsets, the ocean and good friends, in no particular order.

Because there are evil people in this world.

I'd like to think that no one is that inherently evil.

But it is hard to think otherwise.

Someone once said that it's a fine line between the two...

Good morning BN. I like to think of parrotheads as the most inclusive bunch I've had the pleasure of knowing. The evil and hatred of the world is not welcome in Margaritaville. I had a dufus ask for a swastika on his forehead at Cincy once. he harshed my mellow. I told him to get out of my booth! After he left, a girl said I should have painted a star. Pholks laughed at the irony, then someone suggested the star of David. Even better!

I'm back :)

Making the list of things to do/make/buy etc for the upcoming Parrotfest. You would think after 8 yrs we would have it down to a science but each year we add/delete/move so it's always a (GOOD) adventure :D

We'll be heading off to church in a little bit then we will fill the 2 beer kegs in preparation for the earlier mentioned Parrotfest.

Oh yea -- corned beef & cabbage will soon be cooking.

Good morning. I have another St. Patrick's Day Festival to go to today, but this one is called Irish Fest.

There's a brewer in Charleston called Palmetto Brewing. Last year they brewed a beer called Can't Harsh My Mellow and you could only get it at the Mellow Mushroom restaurant in North Charleston. This year they have a new one called Don't Harsh My Mellow. I'm going to be in North Charleston for a concert in early May so I'll stop in Mellow Mushroom for lunch and see if they have it.

Sitting here at a Hilton Garden Inn, after a fun hockey game last night. E is still sleeping, but time to get up and have some breakfast. Haven't turned on the TV, and I'm fine with that.

We’re better than TV. Most of the time. Well, ok, some of the time [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

Morning BNers

HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY!!!!!

We made it home about dusk last night. It was a very long drive from Nashville but Larry is a great driver.

Now, to unpack, wash clothes, repack with warmer attire and head to Jamaica for a week. Music on the beach with some amazing musicians ....Little Feat, Lucinda Williams, Ramble band and Vince Herman from Leftover Salmon.
And all the jerk chicken we can eat!!!!!

Bryan made a great breakfast of eggs, bacon and French toast. I'm a lucky girl! Been doing laundry and cleaning a bit while he does a few small honey do chores. Now we're waiting for our youngest daughter to arrive with her probably soon to be fiancee. The boyfriend had the asking permission talk last Sunday!

I've gone to Irish Fest almost every year since I moved here, it's gotten too big for the place where they have it. They need a bigger space.

A lot of people had dogs with them. I saw one guy with 3 dogs - a black lab, a chocolate lab and a yellow lab.

I only had one beer, Breckenridge Nitro Irish Stout. I'm not much of a stout drinker but I liked this one, it was nice and smooth. I was surprised they had it, Breckenridge is a Colorado brewer and I don't remember seeing any of their beers here before.

Put my brisket and onions in the crockpot this morning and headed to the Korean Day Spa with hubby and two of my daughters for a day of relaxation. Just got home to a house that smells wonderful! Soon I’ll transfer the juice off the meat to a pot to boil the carrots, potatoes, and cabbage in. The rest of the family will be joining us soon.

Here’s wishing you all a safe and wonderful St. Patrick’s evening.

Let me offer an apology.

When I set the topic name my 'mellow' had been quite 'harshed'. So much so I didn't even realise it was St Paddy's.

Please accept my humblest apologies, especially if my topic 'harshed anyone else's mellow'.
