Good morning BN! I love spring. Some Grinchy types refer to it here as the mud season, but I'm excited about the promise of warmth and new growth.

I have one month grace before I start mowing.

Good morning, Bill! :)

I like the temps of Spring - just not the rebirth of bugs and insects. :-?

Today I'll be catching up from the crazy busy day yesterday.

Have a great day! :)

Good morning. The local NBC affiliate is sponsoring a blood drive at the mall today. This is at least the 4th year in a row they've had a blood drive in March and the last 3 were co-sponsored by the Pelicans. I've gotten a voucher good for 2 free Pelicans tickets each time, I hope they're doing that again today.

Morning, BN. Two weeks of work, travel, and shows. Let's see how long it's going to take me to recover. Oy.

Good luck, Larry. I'm thinking about getting a "mini" season ticket plan for the Cyclones. That's four or five games.

We've skipped spring and went right into summer with record setting temps for the last few days in the high 70s.
It's been a strange weather year.... January was the warmest on record with the avg daily temp about 2° above "normal" and then February was the wettest and one of the coldest on record. Now, after 40 straight days where the high temp for the day never reached "normal", we're getting record high temps again. Weird, weird, weird.

They gave out vouchers again, 2 free tickets for any games in April and May except April 2 and April 4. April 2 is the "Battle Of The Beaches", a preseason game against the Charleston River Dogs (a Yankees minor league team), and April 4 is opening day. They're doing a Kentucky Derby promotion May 3, the Derby is May 4, a horse race on the field between innings. That isn't one of the games in my mini plan so I think I'll go to that one.

They stuck the needle in my right arm and didn't hit the vein on the first try so they had to dig around and try to get it in. They couldn't find the vein, they said it was probably because of the scar tissue from all the needle sticks, so they tried the left arm. Hit the vein on the first try and the blood flowed perfectly. The woman who drew my blood was so cute and she had a great personality so I didn't mind that it took longer than usual. Too bad I'm probably old enough to be her grandfather.

Had a couple of spots biopsied last week. Got a call from the doc asking me to come back in to talk about the results.

Hopefully he'll dig out whatever it is today.

Paying for a misspent youth I suppose.

Ahoy! I had young men fix my depth finder at the boat dealer, then fished and had a great day. Killdeer swooped around me with their plaintiff cries of mating.

Hey BP.

We will see what news he brings.

It's not the first to be cut out and I daresay it won't be the last. I don't know of many in my age cohort who haven't been under the scalpel.

Too many sunburns and too little knowledge of the harm.

Well, the trip to the medical center was....odd/useless/????
Ryan and I got to the office. They did all the pre checking they always do. The Dr comes in. Looks at the pics of the inside of my eye. Says everything looks good. Come back in 2 months.
Huh?
So the macular hasn't turned wet???
Great!
My eye healed itself?
Probably not.
He is going to keep watching it.

The medical system over here isn't much more helpful.

Strangely, my biggest fear this afternoon is that after taking a day off work, which meant rearranging meetings and resetting deadlines (etc etc) to be able to have the day off, the doctor will say "That all looks fine, see you in 12 months".

I fear at that point I may have a complete meltdown.

Annual check-ups are fully covered by my insurance with no co-pay. Every year I go in for my checkup and my doctor goes through the usual routine.... No change in my too high blood pressure (manageable with meds), no change to my too high cholesterol (manageable with meds), no change to my too high weight ("I'm in shape, round is a shape"). Nothing's changed, come back in a year. A few weeks later, I'll get a bill for a co-pay. I call and remind them that there's no co-pay for annual check-ups. They tell me that the co-pay is because he counseled me on my blood pressure. WTF kind of annual check-up would not include taking my BP? We do this every year.... I already know the answer, but I nonetheless call every year just to give them crap.

Lots of medical things going on today, and wish you all the best results. :-? :)

Another long, but good'ish, day at work. I'm still fascinated at how a business of a hospital isn't very knowledgeable about office type things. That's where I bring a lot to the table.

Husband Kevin, AKA PaParrot here, has had many chunks removed from various parts of his body. He was one who spent 8 hrs a day all summer at the pool with no protection from the sun.
