We used to have a nesting pair of bald eagles here too, in one of the state parks. I say "used to" because I haven't seen them in at least 2 years.

Hi there! I kept a loose count of eagle sightings this year, seeing the birds 15 times,with some sightings of two birds together. Today I watched six eagles soaring overhead! I would love to see an eagle in the wild. We have/had a nesting pair in our area. I went to see them and saw something flying but it was so high and not sure it was an eagle.
Good chance it was an eagle, Molly. They are often close to the nest to get food to the young With my weakened sight, I often mistake vultures for immature eagles if I have only a glance, but I can identify them if I can watch them for awhile.

I often fish close to a nest and listen to them" talk". It is a very pleasing series of sounds that comes from an apex predator.

They're magnificent looking birds. Sometimes when I've seen them and I have my camera with me, I just stand and watch them soaring overhead instead of taking pictures.

That's the reason I said has/had....construction got the Tree they used to nest in. They were suppose to have moved to an island in the lake but not sure.
