Hello August THURS @ the MSC
Good Morning !
Any special plans for this month ? (we're heading to NJ on Sunday for the Tuesday JB show at a new for us venue). Can't wait to gather with a flock of Parrotheads ! Other than that we are just taking one day of planning activities at a time (well, except for the four 1/2 days & evenings we have Nonny & PopPop duty of our 5-yr old grandson while our son is in Idaho for a 4-week military training).

Good morning Linda. We leave for the Pittsburgh pool party tomorrow, then I head east for Joisey, via Ringville on Sunday. The rest of the month will be filled with fishin' and food.
I'm grand marshal in our festival parade next weekend. Forgot that one.

Good morning.
I have 3 baseball games left, including Augtoberfest a week from tomorrow. I should check the website to see what the beer list looks like this year. The Pelicans end the season on an 11 game road trip so there's no baseball after Aug. 22. Other than that, I'm just hoping we don't have any 105+ heat index days.

Re: Hello August THURS @ the MSC
Good morning pholks, so far the only plans we have in August is the 5 days when our oldest daughter, SIL, and 5 grands come home this coming Tuesday. Final preparations are in full swing here "on the mountain" as our girls call it.

Have a great Thursday!

Did I ever tell you that I worked at 30 Rock, too? '93-'96. Back then I lived in mid-town, too. Good times.

Re: Hello August THURS @ the MSC
I started working in 30 Rock in '96, the week after the 4th of July. That was either the first or second year of the Today Show Friday Concert Series and they weren't as big a deal as they are now. My first week there the musical guest was Prince and there probably weren't more than 200-250 people there. Now, they pack them into Rockefeller Plaza like sardines.

The tree-lighting exploded, too. When I was there they would light the tree right at dark, like 6pm, and then everyone would disperse to whatever bars and such. Now they drag it out for hours with the concert and spectacle, they don't actually light the tree until like 9p.LIPH wrote: โAugust 1, 2019 10:46 am I started working in 30 Rock in '96, the week after the 4th of July. Good morning, BN!
Plans for August? To continue recovery. To get back to work (it'll make my checkbook happy
)
Gave up tickets to friends to see Zac Brown Band on the 9th. Just too chancy to go.
August 6th is my one year anniversary at Kindred Hospital. Bosses sent me a card (they send them to all employees) for it that I got in the mail yesterday.
Still hope to get to one of our favorite (outdoor) beerfests on the 17th.
That's about all I got.
Happy Thursday!

Re: Hello August THURS @ the MSC
Working on my plans for vacay with my 14 year old grandson.
Much procrastinating on my part but he's made it difficult by having to do some summer school this year. He finishes 1 week from today, we're gonna head out the day after.
Need to dissect the particulars to see what we can get done in 7 days/6 nights time but looks like we'll fly into Denver. Tentatively grabbing a car & meandering Westward Ho along I-70 towards Arches Nat'l Park. I'm thinking from there heading southbound to Mesa Verde Nat'l Park. From there destination Grand Canyon has popped into the mix before heading to Vegas for Air departure. Hopefully will be able get off the beaten path a bit too & maybe squeeze in Colorado Nat'l Monument & Sedona also but we'll have to see. These are some places I visited with my deceased wife & the kids back in 1994. Would like to give him a taste of some of these places and open his eyes to some of the amazing sights in this great land! I used to have a habit of trying to bite off more than I can chew when vacationing & try to plot a fairly strict schedule but I'd say this time there's a good chance the actual trip won't be exactly as I set it out to be. As is projected 18 hours travel time from station to station without the in park meandering may be a bit much for teenager...

Re: Hello August THURS @ the MSC
Yep 5! The 2 oldest are boys and the 3 youngest are girls and they range in age from 10 to 4! I spend my time cooking their favorite foods, baking tons of cookies, doing dishes, and reading lots of books and relaxing in the hot tub with them. (We turn the temp WAY down in the summer, so its more tepid than hot) We are a very HAPPY Mimi and Beard Popa when they are home! They live in Rochester, so we really treasure our time together.
The biggest thing on the agenda is next Friday, my mother and father in law, sister and brother in law, and my other 2 daughters will be here for a visit and dinner. 10 adults and 5 kidlets!

According to an email I got from The Brass Tap, today is IPA Day. I guess that means when I open the fridge to get a frosty beverage later, I should make sure it's an IPA.

Re: Hello August THURS @ the MSC
Hi there! Our local brewery had closed and reopened under a successful brand from Erie. I had a good IPA and an ok burger, but not a 13$ burger. I have better burgers at cheaper prices that require a drive, but that's okay.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.
